It will be developed and tested by 2008 and will conduct its first manned mission no later than 2014. Lunar missions will begin between 2015 and 2020."

The above comment appeared in a report dated January 15th, 2004.  http://www.cnn.com/2004/TECH/space/01/14/bush.space/

Then, from the article from the top of this thread.  "The Constellation program, developed under the Bush administration, was aimed at returning astronauts to the moon in the 2020s to clear the way for a Mars mission."

Lying to us has become a full time project at the media and government outlets.

There is talk of...  This seems to be the main goal for NASA these days.

I think that was more a case of wishful thinking than a lie.
