Activist who challenges Obama's citizenship (Orly Taitz) is booted from Tax Day Tea Party
LA Times ^ | 04/13/2010 | Seema Mehta

After candidates complain to organizers, Orly Taitz's speaking engagement is withdrawn. Taitz has been a leading voice in the discredited 'birther' movement.

(snip)

One candidate threatened to withdraw from the event before Tuesday's decision to uninvite Taitz. John Dennis, who is running for the Republican nomination to oppose House Speaker Nancy Pelosi in San Francisco, said he would not appear on the same stage as Taitz.

"The presence of a discredited publicity seeker on the same platform with patriotic Americans distorts the focus of our movement, distracts from our common message and gives ammunition to those who continue to question our legitimacy," Dennis said in a statement.

The Left Wing birfer movement makes this same charge about Bobby Jindal (R-LA).

The Left Wing makes all kind of charges.

What's your point?

Be careful what you ask for. His parents were born in India. He was born in the US.

It’ll be a talking point. And the Alinskyites in the media won’t find it to be a double standard to shield Barry Soetoro while attacking Jindal.

If the shoe fits Jindal, so be it. I am not into just political victories which are short lived. If we do not re-discover our founding roots, we are toast whether or not we win a few victories here or there.

I think the bc issue is valid & symbolic of how poorly this guy was vetted. There are tons of missing documents—we have no records of anything.

You are aware, of course, that no candidate is obliged by law to produce those "tons of missing documents"? Blame the MSM, if you wish -- they're the ones who've forced document exposure in previous elections, and have failed to "vet" Obama  -- but there's no obligation, legally, for candidates to produce background docs.

That said, Orly is the wrong person to be deemed by the MSM as head of the birther movement. She is not a competent litigator, she clearly does not understand the process & makes the movement look ridiculous.

And yet, those in "the movement" insist on defending her, and her foolish, ridiculous, and flagrantly contempuous filings.

Hopefully during the runup to 2012, some competent attorneys will step up.

Why do you think, after all this time, those "competent attorneys"  haven't "stepped up?" Could it be because there's no actual basis, in law, to make Obama produce something that no other Presidential candidate, in the history of the U.S., has been forced by law, to produce? We are, after all, a nation of laws.

Look, regardless of its merits, the birth certificate issue is a political LOSER. Why can’t people get that through their heads?

Some people have invested so much time and energy chasing the ghosts of the "Long Form" birth certificate that they feel compelled to ride the S.S. Orly all the way to the bottom.

Her opinion is valid and her concerns are not discredited -her methods may be questionable; regardless, her efforts are a disttraction to the main purpose of the Tea Party e.g. less GOV, less taxes, more freedom...

Michelle Malkin was on on Sean Hannity’s radio show about 4:30 today.

I am going to paraphrase what was said because I was literally shocked Sean brought it up at all.

Sean Hannity asked Malkin what she thought of Orly not being allowed to speak at the tea party.

Malkin said something similar, this issue has been brought up with me, some of my close friends ask very serious questions about the birther issue. Then she said something like most people know how I feel about it and whether I think it is something we should go after.

She said the thing that bothered her the most was that birthers were being so vilified by the left when a majority of both parties and independents feel it is a issue.

Sean then said he feels the same way. He did not understand the attacks by the left. BUT he said I believe Obama was born in the US simply because no one has proved otherwise.

I am glad the Hannity show was mentioned here. Michelle, as you will have heard, quietly and reasonably made a case. For simply, that it was close friends asking "very serious" questions about the birther issue. The manner in which the "birthers" are being dealt with, by those who may have something to fear, is pure Alinsky. Their derision and howls only bring on more doubts.

Sean Hannity made a nice point about the absolute lack of evidence, to prove the President not being American born. Still, at least questions are being put about a perfectly simply question!

Just the facts please, just the facts, (with apologies to the late Jack Web show).

Sean Hannity did not absolute lack of evidence. He said no one has proved Obama was born elsewhere.

Which means to me Obama has not proven he as born in Hawaii either to Sean. Sean is simply going by what Obama and his team have said. In fact it told me Sean wants someone to prove it.

Hopefully during the runup to 2012, some competent attorneys will step up.

I hadn't planned to post on this again today, but I was ruminating on what would be a productive strategy, and I think you have it;

There's only so much we can do until solid evidence and the will, the energy to see it to the end, merges with the talent and honor of key individuals (a judge, for one) comes together.

I have Faith that something will trigger this, perhaps a treasonous act caught red handed.

Until that moment, should we sit down and shut up?

Oh hell no. Talk show hosts, lawyers, judges, and wanna be's of all of the above will not engage unless all the evidence is sitting right in front of them, waiting for someone to sort the word witching in a manner that the verdict floats up to the top and they can go home and forget about it.

It appears to me that the pertinent facts are there, but there are precious few detectives willing to bet their career or life to put this together with a bow on it.

So what do we do until then?

We pray, we keep it out there until someone who has the proof finds the courage - or is jilted - or God knows what - and The Stain is removed from us.

And then we pray it never happens again, and that we remembered to stock the fridge with beer. (I'll go check on that forthwith)

Maybe she can get a job with Klaymans outfit.

Didn't it take him like 10 years to finally win a case?

No one needs to prove Obama was born elsewhere. Obama needs to prove he was. He has a certificate of live birth.

He may have surrendered his citizenship when his mom remarried in Indonesia.

There are lingering questions.

Different proposed ways that COLB could have been obtained.

No names of fathers or attendant doctors are gaps in the story.

But then he claims to be a Christian without a Baptism certificate either.

Don't know about that. I know that he met with Bill Clinton and the two had a goood laugh about things a few years back.

While searching for that article, I found this:

Some have disagreed Obama needs to prove anything once he is in office and supposedly vetted.

I believe talk show hosts have been threatened. I believe Hannity will love it when it breaks wide open so he can run with it.

He never was vetted. Certainly not on his background by anyone in his party or the media. Too many associations with Mao and Che loving Marxists. Too little paperwork including school transcripts.

Question, based on his past associations, do you think he would have passed a Secret Service background check to work as an aide in the Oval Office?
