Thousands of taxpayers from across the nation are planning to descend on the White House Thursday, and a million more are expected to take their fight against excessive spending, growth of big government and soaring deficits to more than 700 rallies in U.S. cities this week.
Tea Party Patriots estimates that there are currently 737 Tax Day tea party events scheduled by local organizations across the nation. The group offers a list of many of the events for those interested in attending and a zip code search feature to find local rallies. Also, FreedomWorks, leading organizer of the Washington rally, has a separate list of nearly 200 events scheduled for April 15.
"This April 15 will be the largest network of events across the country that I believe we've seen in a long time," FreedomWorks President Matt Kibbe said in a recent conference call. "We expect millions of people to show up across the country protesting a government that is out of control, a government that does not listen to the American people. We want to take our country back."

Early morning Boston CBS news (5AM), mentioned the tea party rally on the Boston Common, 10-3 today, with Sarah Palin as one of the speakers. The thrust of the piece, however, was that Sarah made $12 million last year from public speaking appearances, her book, etc.. How dare she. I’m sure they’re hoping to incite locals to attend the rally and make their outrage known before TV reporters. If they had half a brain, they’d spend time on whom she’s supporting, has supported, and why. But we wouldn’t want a thinking electorate.
Preparing to leave for Washington myself in about one hour. Three others riding with me. Also, a bus from my city is driving up.
When will Washington start listening to the voters; the MAJORITY of the voters.
I personally think the title of this article--when referring to federal property protected by Secret Service, is not necessarily helpful. Yes, I know people are *angry*, same here. But particularly taking into consideration that the Powers That Be are trying to paint the Tea Party as "violent" and bordering on "lawlessness" (precisely the set up Hitler used on opposition in his Enabling Act of 1933), this title might have been worded a little more clearly and tactically.
I’m leaving for the airport in 30 minutes. Pray that we get a huge crowd.
Don’t be such a coward.
That’s like saying “Don’t criticize the mainstream media so harshly, Rush; you might antagonize some people and they’ll define you as angry and hostile.”
So what.
If we don’t “storm” in the rallies, then we are dismissed as “listless, unenthusiastic, and uncommitted.” If we show enthusiasm and commitment, we are deemed “tending toward violence.”
Why should we care how the far left White House and mainstream media define us? They will define us in whatever terms are helpful to them.
We should not be defensive, but stay constantly on the offensive. That means storming the White House and attacking the mainstream media.
Don't (yourself) be such a non-thinking idiot, and be my guest, walk right into their narrative. Brilliant.
Only they claim it's "their narrative." (Apparently, you agree.)
More activism; less literary theory.
I’ll wager that the Narcissist in the WH will think it’s his adoring public coming to cheer him on.
