Dear God...why didn’t the GOP run Alan Keyes in 2008?! The man is apparently unafraid to candidly speak the truth.

You have a short memory. The GOP did run Keyes against Obama in 2004. Obama won 70-29% and was established as a media superstar.

Easy to do when you’re talking from the sidelines. Don’t get me wrong, I liked a lot of what Alan Keyes’ was about during his last run but I would assume that when you’re not actually running, you can pretty much adopt a “damn the torpedoes” approach. Unless you’re Ronald Reagan. ;-)

Alan is right.

I like Sarah but this article does put things in perspective IMO.

Why not run Alan?

He is a Conservative Catholic.
He is not what the culture of death/greed/selfishness/sex anytime/GLAD/Liberals/socialists/fenced GOPers ect want for a President.

**********************

The GOP nomenklatura distrust and dislike Keyes, as he is considered (and can be) a loose cannon. He does not wear the party yoke well, and ironically is therefore more loyal.

His inverse is Colin Powell. ‘Loyal’, teamplayer, respectful, prudent and measured - and a backstabbing rat.

Keyes - not Hannity - was the first to warn the general public what a twisted radical BO is, principally with reference to the BAIPA saga. Right or wrong, Keyes pulls no punches. He therefore terrifies the business as usual ruminants.

I was proud to vote for Keyes in the primary, even though it was a no hope situation. I have always liked him.

I disagree with his assessment of Palin, however.

I believe that the fix was in, the Republican candidate had to be someone who wasn’t a natural born citizen. McCain was born in a public hospital in the city of Colon, Republic of Panama. He was unable to challenge Obama’s eligibility and if any Republican did so, then facts about McCain would be dragged into the political limelight.

At the time I thought it truly odd that McCain took the lead so quickly and no one was truly able to catch up to him. Later I discovered that George Soros had been donating money to McCain. It is truly troubling.

For me, the fact that Palin is associating with McCain tells me all I need to know about her politics.

Alan Keyes had his chance for fame when he ran against Barack Obama for the Senate in Illinois. He ran one of the worst campaigns in American political history, and lost in a humongous blowout.

Alan Keyes is an idiot, and a very mean and nasy man.

We have that carpetbagging muppet to thank for Obama as it is. Obama beating Keyes so soundly and decisively in 2004 probably gave him the self-esteem to think, "Hmm... That was pretty easy. Maybe I ought to run for President."

Prolly would have been the lowest turnout election in a century, once the dust settled over Obama and Keyes.

Alan Keyes is truely an outsider. Sarah Palin is toast.

Keyes is an opportunist and a shameless self-promoter. Using their carnival sideshow-like tactics, he and his acolytes bring utter embarrassment to the pro-life factions. If Keyes is against Palin that only pushes rational conservatives further into the her corner.

By the way, Keyes ran at the top of his wee Party’s ticket in ‘08. He managed to get less than sixty-thousand votes, nationwide.

“Michael Steele has from the first day of his tenure been a spokesman for the RINO, pro-abortion, amoral, ‘money is god’ elite minority that presently controls the Republican Party. The statement that Steele is an outsider is an outright lie. He has for some years now made himself the tool of the elite RINO clique. There’s only one sense in which Steele is an outsider. He’s outside the purview of the conservative views of the pro-life, God-fearing grassroots’ majority of the GOP’s voting base.”

Anyone care to impeach this statement?

You just answered your own question there, Skippy.

(There is one other reason. Keyes has a higher IQ than McCain, Romney, Palin, the Huckster and Michael Steele combined.)

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Because he would have gotten three votes (assuming his mom is still alive).

Besides wet behind the ears, you must be certifiably dumb. Thanks to Alan Keyes, Obama handily won the US Senate seat in Illinois. DUH.

FYI, Alan is not a Republican, thank God. As for Alan, allegedly speaking the truth, Alan is a snarling sore loser, a man without a following. He's a bomb thrower, forever sidelined because he's not a leader. He lectures and finds fault. He doesn't inspire the best in others. He berates, but apparently that appeals to you.

Millions voted for Sarah.

I thought you were told "enough!", just an hour before you posted this, by the boss?

Keyes is a true vote getter. In the 2008 Presidential election as a 3rd Party candidate Keyes got 10 votes in New York, 5 in NYC and the other 5 elsewhere in the state. That’s a true vote getter the Keyes fellar.

Because he ran against Obama once before and got his rear end handed to him.
