RE :”At the time I thought it truly odd that McCain took the lead so quickly and no one was truly able to catch up to him. Later I discovered that George Soros had been donating money to McCain. It is truly troubling.

This is news to me. Do you have a source link for that? Would Soros funding Romney be next?

You know, there was a time when I actually liked Alan Keyes. He’s a brilliant man in many ways, is conservative beyond a shadow of a doubt and writes exceedingly well.

Having said that, he’s gone off the deep end because of his inability to get elected. He runs completely off a cliff with every conservative cause du jour. It’s a shrill cry for attention, hey look at me, see how much more conservative-than-thou I am, see how brilliant I am.

His defining public moment, for me, was pushing a baby stroller down the street at Notre Dame, with Cabbage Patch dolls covered with ketchup in it, in a business suit.

He’s gone completely ‘round the bend.

Do I have some misgivings about Sarah, due to her support of McCain? Yes, I do. I’m not about to throw her overboard due to that, not yet. Time will tell. Do I believe Obama is questionable, as far as his meeting the constitutional requirements for office? Yes, I do, but embracing that nutbag Orly Taitz did more damage to any hope for the constitutional case to be heard, than any Obama supporter could possibly hope to have done.

That’s what Alan Keyes has become, an inadvertant shill for conservative opposition, due to his automatically off the charts take on every single issue of the day. He’s a satire of a conservative. If he were to sign up to FR tomorrow and start posting this stuff anonymously, I’d think he was a POE.

"Dear God...why didn’t the GOP run Alan Keyes in 2008?! The man is apparently unafraid to candidly speak the truth."

You just answered your own question there, Skippy.

(There is one other reason. Keyes has a higher IQ than McCain, Romney, Palin, the Huckster and Michael Steele combined.)

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Because he would have gotten three votes (assuming his mom is still alive).

Anyone care to impeach this statement?

Looked pretty much spot on to me.

From Sarah's support for McCain, which I could (barely) rationalize as one of those inconvenient political paybacks, she seems to be migrating further from the fold, not closer in.

Dr.Keyes' taking Steele to task for the race card seems appropriate as well.

Now, plenty here have expressed their disagreement with both Steele and Mc Cain, so I'm waiting to see just how many RINOS get supported by Sarah before the writing is on the wall around here.

Actions speak louder than words.

Ding Ding! We have a winner.

Sarah is keeping her eye on the ball. Obama/Reid/Pelosi is the unifying trio that will permit Americans to see the difference between statism and freedom. She is rightly concentrating on the real fight while childish fools play their games with unimportant distractions.

The GOP in Alaska tried all these games on her including trying to buy her off. They failed because she ignored the distractions. They wasted their time when they really needed to reform themselves. That was their only hope to prevent her from winning.

The Rinos are an endangered species. The voters will take care of them. Sarah must keep the focus on the future and where the Democrats want to take it.

So, we have come to the point where a popularity contest determines the viability of an idea?

Amen Bro.

AND, McCain was born in the City of Colon, one of two cities EXCLUDED from US control.

All you McCain is an NBC people need to do a little research. No, do a lot of research. I HAVE.

THERE IS NO DOUBT, McCAIN IS NOT ELIGIBLE TO BE PRESIDENT, BECAUSE HE IS NOT A NATURAL BORN CITIZEN. And of course neither is Obama. People born in a foreign country cannot be president no matter the status of their parents, military base or not, embassy or not, US ship or not. Not all US territories & possessions even qualify as US soil.

“The Panama Canal Zone was leased by the United States, it was never a territory and part of the United States.”

Correction!!!

The Panama Canal Zone was NEVER leased.

We bought every square inch of that land from Panama.

I know. I live here.

I’ve come to the point that Alan Keyes’ constant carping has become annoying. Michael Steele is a dolt, he’s demonstrated that in oh so many ways. I’d like to see him gone myself. But, to spin giant conspiracies out of a potential, Republican Presidential hopeful making statements of support is ridiculous. She won’t be viable if she comes out and says what Keyes thinks she should say.

The man is a cartoon. He’s not helping, he pushes hot buttons so hard they’re breaking. That no doubt does him some good as far as income from those who agree with him, and I’ve agreed with him on more than one occasion. It’s not language for public consumption, though. If National Lampoon were to concoct a satirical conservative, well, there’s no need. There’s Alan Keyes, bellowing away, pushing ketchup-covered babydolls around in a carriage.

whether Republicans like it or not. The Panama Canal Zone was leased by the United States, it was never a territory and part of the United States.

Nuts to McCain but if he was born on a US installation or in some circumstances, born to US parrents serving the US in a foreign location, he was born on US soil and is a "natural born" American.

How can people who claim to be conservative go on blinding themselves to the truth about Sarah Palin? In the critical area of her personnel choices she blithely promotes the wrong people, as she did when, as Governor, she boasted about putting a pro-abortion Planned Parenthood leader on the Alaska Supreme Court.

Now she backs McCain, and heaps prevaricating praise on Michael Steele, though the words and actions of both men confirm their deficiency in anything that more than superficially resembles sincere, consistent conservative principle.

Keyes on Palin perspective bump to self.

For the record: The link you provided was to Michelle Malkin.com (back January 25, 2008). There she talked about the open borders Reform Institute funding Mccain , Rick Davis McCain’s campaign manager and the OSI (Open Society Institute), founded and funded by George Soros funding the Reform institute.

Just for what it's worth -- the ambassador's residence abroad was traditionally considered (at common law) to be part of his home country.

"Scotland Yard" was originally the Scottish ambassador's residence and was considered Scottish territory (back when Scotland was a separate country).

I'm sure this was done with the "natural subject" issue in mind.

Politics is the art of compromise, something which Alan Keyes knows nothing about, and for this I love him, and for this he hates Sarah.

I sadly agree. Pat Buchanan has similarly curdled after election defeats. I still like both of them, but they cracked under pressure.

Contrast with Reagan after 1976.

Besides wet behind the ears, you must be certifiably dumb. Thanks to Alan Keyes, Obama handily won the US Senate seat in Illinois. DUH.

FYI, Alan is not a Republican, thank God. As for Alan, allegedly speaking the truth, Alan is a snarling sore loser, a man without a following. He's a bomb thrower, forever sidelined because he's not a leader. He lectures and finds fault. He doesn't inspire the best in others. He berates, but apparently that appeals to you.
