This post convinced me it was time to get a dehydrator and make my own jerky. The first dehydrator I looked at on Amazon showed a common co-purchase by shoppers was the Plano Protector Four Pistol Case for $14.99.

Usually I use whatever can be turned into ground meat. Sometimes if I screw up a steak when I am processing the deer I'll throw that in too.
Then I'll run it through a hand crank meat grinder (or if I'm allowed to use the wife's kitchenaid). Add the seasoning and stir. Let sit 4 hours and stuff into jerky gun (plastic translucent thing resembling a caulking gun). Squeeze onto tray; dehydrate.
