These attitudes will become the norm in the U.S. as government programs bloat and more and more people lose their jobs. Heck, I’m on disability right now and would like to go back to work, but I increasingly keep thinking why bother? The taxes alone will make a return to work so not worth it. Might as well stay on the dole so to speak.

I agree. I refuse to work just to pay taxes. Fortunately I've worked and sacrificed enough to have a few options. I have one foot out the door.
By the way, there is no way a family of 8 can be accused of sloth and coveting is what the government does with our tax money.

The only bad guys in this story, are the ones not mentioned: the bozos who voted for the crooks.

This is how it starts. It is really, really hard to be starting out on a low paid job. The system is meant to prevent people from being in want, but what some bureaucrat who doesnt live in the real world doesnt understand is that there are many, many low-paid workers who are already at or below the levels they think are “livable”.
