The perfect ending to a day that saw support for repealing O-Care reach a new high in Rasmussen (58 percent) and support for The One reach a new weekly low in Gallup (47 percent). Turns out that fantastically long, mind-bogglingly complex bills which no one has actually read may create unintended consequences. Remember how they forgot to require insurers to cover kids with preexisting conditions? Oh, and they forgot initially to let young adults be covered by their parents insurance until Reid fixed it in reconciliation. Now this. Who knew that when Pelosi said theyd have to pass the bill so that people could find out whats in it, people meant Congress?
Id call it comedy gold if not for the obvious point raised by the Times: If they did not know exactly what they were doing to themselves, did lawmakers who wrote and passed the bill fully grasp the details of how it would influence the lives of other Americans?
The law apparently bars members of Congress from the federal employees health program, on the assumption that lawmakers should join many of their constituents in getting coverage through new state-based markets known as insurance exchanges.
But the research service found that this provision was written in an imprecise, confusing way, so it is not clear when it takes effect.
The new exchanges do not have to be in operation until 2014. But because of a possible drafting error, the report says, Congress did not specify an effective date for the section excluding lawmakers from the existing program.

What Congress has that's too good for the rest of us: CHOICE.
This is too good to be true!
That was just for show; to put down the criticism that they had exempted themselves from the program. They will just quietly slip it back into law or give themselves a better deal.
I think that your comment says it all. :-)
LOLOL! Thanks for the ping!
It is a complete urban legend that they dont pay into that system.
Well, maybe. Let's assume they do “pay into” Social Security.
See, Congress doesn't ever need to “get money from” Social Security - EVER! - because their congressional retirement is based on the number of years in Congress and the rate of pay of their last years’ in office. So Congressional retirement is on the order of 100,000.00 to 180,000.00 dollars. Per year.
So why should (the democrats in) congress care about the relative debt of Social Security for the rest of the taxpayers? They will never need it.
Glenn Beck thinks it was Apollo Alliance, which is funded by the Tides Foundation. AA was founded by Wade Rathke (ACORN)and Van Jones (former WH czar) and the Tides Foundation is funded by Mrs. Kerry and George Soros.
Funny. (Ha. Ha.)
He takes over 17% of the economy with dictator-driven tactics that evade centuries of legal rules and procedures needed for every other law passed since the nation's beginning ....
Willingly and enthusiastically aided and encouraged by his own media who refused to cover or even admit the lies needed to “justify” the law ....
And we don't even know who wrote the legislation ....
Which was not even read by the “lawyers” and legislature and staffers voting FOR the bill ....
Who did not PERMIT the legislature and aides opposing the bill to even READ it ....
Have you read this??
I think it is FUUUNNNNNNNNIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEE.
ping
Oops ping
ROTFLMAO!
Please excuse me for a moment or two. I am having a major schadenfreude moment.
[Schadenfreude is pleasure derived from the misfortunes of others]
Of course, those a$$hole congresscritters will “fix” this “problem” in the night Real Soon Now!
Thanks for the ping. POS totalitarian statists deserve only 1 kind of care.
BUMP!
BUMP!
You can jail 'em, I'll collect the reward from turning them in to the IRS.
Deal?
**NYT: ObamaCare may have accidentally stripped Congress of health coverage**
That would be justice in action. LOL!
