Frustrated with our government, 4,000 people joined together at Chukchansi Park in downtown Fresno to say enough is enough.
"The biggest problem by far is the federal government is too powerful in our lives. They're bossing us around, telling us what we can and can't do. This country was never setup to be like that," said Steve Brandau of the Central Valley Tea Party.
"I'm just disgusted with what's happening to our country. Overspending, overtaxing, it's becoming a socialist country," said Saundra Hawkins.
Republican Steve Poizner, who is running for governor, believes he's on the same page as everyone who was in the stands.
"We need to get back to the basics. Individual liberty, personal responsibility, smaller government, lower taxes. That's how we can get this great state back on track," said Poizner.
Republican Damon Dunn wants to be the next Secretary of State.
"What we need in America and California today are strong principaled leaders," Dunn told the crowd.
Dunn says we don't need anymore ideas, just people who can execute them.
"We need someone who understands how to think strategically, that can lead 360 degrees. Leading down, leading laterally, build coalitions and then lead up. People that will be there well after you're gone. I feel I'm that kind of leader," said Dunn.
The main purpose of the event was not to be a political platform for candidates to capture votes. However, many enjoyed the opportunity of hearing their messages delivered uncut and in person.
"I've already heard some speeches that have changed my opinion about some of the candidates," said Hawkins.
Wonderful photos of true patriots. They’re the last stronghold against the tyrants in D.C. God bless each and every one of them.
I have to argee. 4000 was a heck of a turnout. Reid could only get around 100 people in his home town. Hehehehe.
Oh, yes, they were there (in Fresno). We, many, many times, with Jim and company, counter-protested "Peace Fresno" on the corner of Blackstone and Shaw. They are like vermin, you can never get rid of them. You'd think they would be happy now that the beneficent and magnificent Obama was elected, but no, as far as I know, they still come out from under their rocks on Fridays to protest their "cause du jour" at Blackstone and Shaw.
But they are not a huge group and we were 4,000 strong. They wisely stayed away.
Yes, and the Central Valley is the very last conservative stronghold in the entire state of California. It is no surprise that the Feds have turned off the water to our valley farmers. Our farmers can't farm, unemployment is at an all time high, our economy is failing, mom and pop businesses are shuttering everywhere, and our small towns here are fast becoming ghost towns. Controlling the people by withholding water (under the guise of saving a little two inch delta smelt), just like a third world dictatorship. We live in very scary times.
We sure do. Keep the faith. What goes around comes around. God bless you and protect you.

Nope, no surprise at all.
WE ‘smelt’ it coming but failed to head it off at the dam.
It came in the back door of the courthouse.. to boot.
Eat dirt, World, it may all be that’s left soon if Green
Activist Judges continue to destroy communities that feed a hungry world.
They want Mexico to “feed the world.” So central and northern California are expendable.
4000 people? Holy cow! If 40 showed up at one of our small-town Nebraska events, I would be happy. However, I understand that the last round of Town Hall meetings, staged across Northern Nebraska with Sen Mike Johanns, had typically crowds of 400 ... and they were ready to hang Ben Nelson by a short rope.
Excellent!!! thanks -—
Great Tea Party Sandra. The main thing you guys absolutely must do is elect a Republican as Sec. of State. Voter fraud is what has been killing us. That is where we have to fight the hardest. See that Mr. Dunn or someone like him has all the funds and boots on the ground he needs.
What a bunch of unruly racists. /s
You are right about voter fraud. If we can’t count on fair elections, we are doomed. That’s what worries me about the census - that the process is corrupt and fixed. I heard that the fix is in with many of the Secretaries of State already, and ours in CA is one of the dirty ones.
Post 31 - No troublemakers as far as I could tell. The day was great from beginning to end. The organizers (Central Valley Tea Party) are just stellar patriots. First class all the way.
I liked what they said about us (tea party folks), we are like herding cats - we are independent creatures. I don’t think we really have a leader, actually. We are all leaders from what I can tell.
"PIX OR IT DIDN'T HAPPEN!"
...but then...
THERE WERE PIX!
Good points and keep up the excellent work. We will bring down this rule of tyranny YET! ;-)
Priceless! Thank you.
WAY TO GO!
I am Jim Thompson....
I was there in Spirit. /Salute all
If your Sec. of State is up for election this year, make her/him priority number one. Find out who is running against them and work hard for that person with both money and boots on the ground. Door to door if necessary. I’m serious about this. The Tea Party people can do this, but it won’t be easy battling Soros’ plan and money.
