The November elections are the best shot for the Republicans in a generation -- as long as they are bold in opposing Obama's government takeover, tax, tax, tax and spend agenda and will remind people that the GOP stands for lower taxes and smaller government, then mean it.
Newt Gingrich made those points in his speech at the SRLC.

Hey, great! Please put me in touch with some of that 25% — I’d like them to pay my taxes. Seriously, if they think we’re under-taxed, they are more than welcome to cover some of the rest of us.

The November elections are the best shot for the Republicans in a generation Good for them.
Didn't they reach that point in 2000?

47 % of Americans pay no tax. Just a matter of time until it’s 51%, ever voting themselves more benefits (entitlements). Bodes ill for the nation.

>> Lower income voters are more likely than others to believe the nation is overtaxed.
And that makes perfect sense.

What they really mean is that they are overtaxed, and everybody else is undertaxed.

I'm willing to bet ALL of that 24% is in the group of 47% that pays no Federal Income Tax and in states with no income tax.

We are not over-taxed—we are overspent—and as a consequence, our taxes are too high. Taxes follow spending, but it would be better policy to focus on spending cuts. Tax cuts would follow.

In my younger days I didn’t pay too much attention to politics, although my faith and family led me on a generally conservative road.
The thing that woke me up and set me down that road with both hands on the wheel and pedal to the floor was my first year of self-employment. Actually, April of the following year. The 15th to be precise.

When they refer to half the people paying no taxes, they are talking about INCOME taxes.
But everyone pays taxes on gasoline, and a lot of hidden taxes — and with Obamacare, people will pay Medicare taxes on investment income and so on, and wait until Obama starts a VAT, so in reality everyone is overtaxed, and more people are starting to realize it.
