The CPI has long been deceptively useless, and the Fed's covert action to suppress precious metals price increases (by as much as they could) is another way to hide the debasement of the currency (current U.S. economic policy).

In 1988
the Hunt brothers were convicted of federal charges for manipulating the price of silver.
It's okay for the government to do it, though.
To: JustTheTruth
No surprise here. And the manipulation is not just in the Gold & Silver MarketsWhat do you think the Department of Agriculture is all about? They say it is price stablity. But what it is really about is control and depressing food & fiber commodity prices.

Given a losing position, the best move an individual trader in metals can do is take delivery.

So when do we start getting mad at the bankers and currency manipulators who have been robbing from us and the Federal Treasury for years?
To: JustTheTruth; blam
Well, I guess reporting more than 2 weeks after the fact is better than not reporting at all. Biggest thing to take away from that hearing is that for every 100 ounces of gold bullion traded, there is only
ONE ounce of physical gold.
When the music stops, only one out of 100 in the gold market will have a chair.

I don’t understand the complaints.
If a cabal were conspiring to keep the price of a gallon of gas at $1.00 would you be upset?

Didn’t ZeroHedge have a story on this a long time ago?
This is why The Fed must be not only Audited, but it is far past time for it to be ABOLISHED. Our currency is worth less than a silver penny was in 1940.
DELIBERATELY to enrich entities such as the Fed.

How can a person trust a commodity as volatile as gold has been? Isn’t it true that if something can go up astronomically that it can crash just the same?
