Police use pepper spray to break up Country Club Plaza crowds
The Kansas City Star ^ | 4/10/2010 | Tony Rizzo

The Country Club Plaza area was awash with pepper spray Saturday night as police struggled to disperse a rowdy gathering of hundreds of young people.

At least one person was reported with a serious head injury about 11:20 p.m. in the parking lot outside Winstead’s restaurant.

It wasn’t immediately clear how the person was injured. The victim was taken to nearby St. Luke’s Hospital.

Several dozen police officers spent much of the evening attempting to disperse large crowds — totaling an estimated 500 to 1,000 people — that gathered at various spots in the shopping district. Police at times used pepper spray at multiple locations to break up disturbances.

Careful avoidance of description, except that they were “young” and “rowdy.”

No idea what happened, but I can make a damn good guess from this squeamishness.

Reading the comments to the article is most illuminating.
Even though the media refuses to identify just who these "yutes" are the people of KC know exactly what's going on there.

This part of the report I find most sickening.....

Otavio Silva, the husband of Kansas City Star reporter Jill Silva, said he received a face full of pepper spray while he and his dinner party were walking behind a large group of young people.

Silva said the youths were walking down the sidewalk and he hadn’t witnessed them misbehaving when a police car pulled up and officers told them to “move on” before unleashing a blast of the chemical spray.

No I'm sure he didn't witness them misbehaving.....but from a police perspective all you need to see is another group with "attitude" heading into the mele instead of away from it.
And by including this short paragraph the media has now injected "racism" into the police action and inflamed the situation.....and they know it!

There’s always been trouble with kids from the inner city and WY county coming to the Plaza. I’m curious if they still block part of it off. For those who don’t know, the Plaza is the first outdoor shopping mall with the most upscale stores and restaurants. The condos and apartments around the Plaza are very nice as well.

Similar incident in East Austin Thursday, April 8. A very large group of black “yoots” numbering about 50-60 were gathered at an establishment very near Reagan High School and appeared to be waiting for a fight to happen or something. Three police cars came rushing up and the crowd was told to disperse. I moved on and don’t know the rest of the circumstances. I’ve never seen THAT kind of gathering before.

I’ve been wondering if this happened anywhere else. Evidently there has been trouble at the Plaza before, but this seems pretty serious to me. Who wants to run into this type of situation?

Reading the comments to the article is most illuminating.

Lately I have been clicking through to more and more articles so that I can read the comments and find out what really happened. Now I notice that some papers are disabling the comments whenever there is a rakefight so that local commenters can't inform the reader as to whether it's the Amish or the Mennonites causing the dustup.

I think white people around the country are finished with the whole PoliticalCorrectness thing.
It ain’t racism to be on alert when confronted with groups of young black males, it’s a numbers game/wisely playing the percentages.

Rowdy Black youths (there, I’ve said it) have been a problem in Kansas City for years. The Westport District was a vibrant economic zone with great restaurants and clubs. Blacks who were too young to get into the clubs, took to the streets of Westport and chased everyone else away. Kansas City has tried to revive downtown with its Power and Light District. Political correctness by the city has led to private security working hard to keep Power and Light from becoming the next Westport.

Now, the problem is moving to the Plaza. Its hard to understand why, the upscale shops and restaurants aren’t much of an attraction to the rowdys, so this appears to be just a desire to make trouble. If black youths succeed in the Power and Light District and at the Plaza, then Kansas City will become Detroit on the Missouri, an abandoned shell ruled by the lawless.

I don’t want to sound racist

Trust me, you don’t sound racist all all. You are only saying what probably 90 percent of the white folks in the country
say privately. Remember, any criticism at all of miniorities
automatically makes one a racists in the eyes of liberals.
However, those same liberals, say like Robert Byrd (D) W.VA.
think those same thoughts. Remember he is the one who used the term “White Nigger” on national TV

I don’t want to sound racist but these stupid mouth-breathing aborigines aren’t going to like it when they’re told theres no free lunch.

Well, it's a bit hard to defend your words, IMO.

Anyhow KC has had black trouble ever since I can remember.

My friend, I’m getting to the point where I just don’t give a damn anymore. I’ve had it with the welfare state and EVERY mouth breathing aborigine of what ever stripe sponging off me the taxpayer.

Seems like the ‘rowdy gangs’ from Westport may have just spread out into the Plaza.

Or like our already abandoned twin, St. Louis.
