NEW ORLEANS -- Mitt Romney won the straw poll at the Southern Republican Leadership conference here Saturday in a victory that will be taken as a sign of the former Massachusetts governor's strength as a 2012 presidential candidate.
That's because the 2008 GOP presidential hopeful elected to skip the conference to continue his book tour.
Romney triumphed by a single vote over Ron Paul, who took second place 439 votes to 438. Both men won 24 percent of the vote. Sarah Palin and Newt Gingrich essentially tied for third with 18 percent of the vote each.

Look chicken head, and I assume you have that name because your are..as you say..Just a loose chicken head rolling around on the ground.. while your Chicken body is running amok.. look at our Joining dates above... I have been here a lot longer than you... Chicken brains.
I am not going to sit by silently while ignorance and bigotry slams the Republican state of Mississippi over the democrat blue state of Massachusetts that was only recently shown to have some sense of patriotism and sense with the election of Scott Brown.
What about old women who have young husbands (thinking of myself)?
lmao— then why you sticking up for a liberal -
MADISON (WKOW) — An author from Alabama, who speaks to white supremacists about “slavery being ordained by God,” will no longer speak at a tea party rally in Wausau next week.
John Eidsmoe was originally scheduled to appear at the event, but was pulled after the Jefferson County circuit judge says he didn’t want to speak at the same event as Eidsmoe. Eidsmoe offered to withdraw from the rally when approached.http://www.wxow.com/Global/story.asp?S=12283491
Romney signed it ...it’s ROMNEYCARE ...Obamacare LITE.
As for Mass Politics..you elected Kennedy, Kerry and Bwaney Fwank... what’s there to know.
GOP runs Romney... I go Fishing!!
I strand in the heart of Conservative country, which means I cannot support a liberal back stabber like Mitt even if the well coiffed one is the “fairest in the land”...
Mitt is a lot more Dreamy than Fred Thompson.but then Fred Thompson does have a younger wife.. so who is to judge..
Exactly. There is a line of argument that talks about the perfect being the enemy of the good. While there is some truth to that America has been so undermined that just "good" isn't likely to be good enough to make a difference. If the roll to socialism had been turned back a decade or more ago then maybe "good" would be enough to get by...but I think we're too close to the very edge and might have too much momentum for anything less than the "perfect" to turn it around.
As for who that is...we need the equivalent of Speed Racer to get us down this mountain without brakes.
With the excepting of hacking for Romney, most of what this posters says makes no sense.
Unless, you understand the posts, maybe you could explain them.
As far as I know, Romney was the ONLY candidate from 2008 who advocated this:
Romney has also expressed an openness to changing the US policy of granting automatic citizenship to those born on American soil, regardless of their parents' immigration status. Some conservatives call them "anchor babies," because as adults they can apply to bring their relatives from abroad.
Very important but often ignored element in immigration issues.
THe old guys using all thier energy keeping the wife satisfied is a myth. They use all their energy keeping up with the toddlers they have sired,,,
