Just because someone has done work for the CIA does not mean that they are in the CIA.
That’s a standard fitrep, written to embellish a twenty-something old youngster who is having an adventure.
He would have been under the supervision of a senior agent and watched. He had no choice but to follow orders. Likely he was ordered to meet with Taliban accompanied by an interpreter. In those meetings he had orders to find out what their needs were. He would have been instructed to call in and report at certain times and his whereabouts would have been known at all times.
Could he have communicated to Soviet agents about his actions? In the theatre not likely. No, this adventure was a job that allowed him to learn a little about ops in the field, nothing more.
It is not that big a deal. Any recruit can volunteer or be volunteered for special ops. Whether they get the assignment or not is not in their control.
Completion of special ops can be rewarded with special offers and priviledges. So college enrollment and funding at Columbia, Harvard is not surprising.
Obama has all the markings of an Agency sponsored recruit. The murkiness and secrecy of his past are telltale signs. His Marxist views mattered not, not at the level he was placed at. And in fact Marxist indoctrination and training are an asset.
And it will never be any different coming from the Left.
Too often weak Republicans will react “He’s a Crackpot! Can’t be seen with a crackpot, No No!”.
What the Right needs to do is show some spine. Get behind Manning and shout the Left down. Tell the MSM that they can call him whatever but the people are going to get behind him.
“He’s a crackpot you say? Yeah well he’s our crackpot! And you think people don’t see your crackpots everyday in the press? Al Gore? Cynthia McKinney? Maxine Walters? Olbermann?”
Instead the MSM will launch an attack on someone like Manning or as they are now against targeted individuals in the Tea Party, they will attempt to discredit them and force YOU to back down. That way they win.
Manning is a typical fire-branding evangelical charasmatic black preacher who is prone to hyperbole. So what?
If conservatives stand behind Manning or at least don’t allow themselves to be pushed back, then what is the MSM going to do? Call us all a bunch of crackpots? Who cares what they call us! They will never stop calling us names!
But if you cower and say “Oh no, can’t be seen watching and listening to that Manning fellow”, then you are their b*tch!
Exactly and even if they are in the CIA it doesn’t mean they have access to anything substantial.
Obama had awareness of Muslim customs and the Koran from his time in school in Indonesia.
If the Agency needed someone with that knowledge in the field to talk with Taliban, they would have recruited him or given him a work assignment. The language would not be so important as the customs, how you enter a Mosque, how you bow, when put your hands together and to what, how to recite the Koran etc. An interpreter for for the looal Taliban would have been easy enough to find as English is usually studied around the world.
Some even thought that Noah was a crackpot for building a Ark.... I guess he was proven right all along....

Oh, brother... There is no trial. Nobody is going to court. There will be no "other side" to offer a defense. Nobody is going to leave in handcuffs. Manning's "trial" is nothing more than a theatrical presentation in the basement of his church where Manning will play the role of prosecutor, judge and jury and read a well-rehearsed verdict of "guilty" against Obama, Columbia U. and God knows who else for a multitude of treasonous crimes against America. And that'll be that. If Columbia U., much less Obama, even knows this event is taking place, I'd be surprised. If they did, they probably haven't given Manning's "trial" more than a passing chuckle.
That people are even referring to this event as a "trial" is indicative of nothing more than a failure to grasp reality.
It’s conceivable that Manning is being setup. He’s been railing against Obama since day 1. It’s possible that Obama people planted false info that got picked up by Manning’s network.
What I am trying to get some weak-kneed posters here to understand is that you don’t win the PR war by scurrying for cover. You get in their face and say:
“Ok, so ya suckered yourself a black preacher in the City. Well isn’t that special? But ya know what? We, the American people don’t give a damn that you sucker-punched this Pastor, WE STILL DON”T LIKE YOU PERIOD! And not only that we are going to sing and dance with the Pastor in his Church and show him he can count on us! And meanwhile when we see you, we are going to ensure the room we find you in is filled with enough fartrous fartoxide to see you turn green and constipated! And is you don’t like it you can move to your socialist hellhole in Cuba or your socialist utopia in Europe!
If conservatives can stop being ‘perfect angels’ and start acting this way the MSM will be confused and stymied, because if they can’t the reaction they want, they got no reason to launch their personal attacks.

Please indulge me. How exactly are you envisioning this event playing out? Manning will pronounce Obama, Columbia and whoever else guilty at his make-believe "trial" and then what? What do you think is going to happen after the "verdict" is read?
I'll tell you what I think is going to happen. Manning is going to stage a play in the basement of his church followed by him and a few supporters holding signs at Columbia U. The whole event will be filmed and uploaded to youtube where people will post comments about Manning being either a patriot or a nutjob. That'll be that.
