I suspect the invite to Russia was a setup for this.

Doubtful. Reports are the pilot refused to divert and made four attempts to land at an airport with poor weather and poor ATC.

Motive and opportunity. What an opportunity.

Somewhere you just know that Vladimir Putin is smacking his lips at the thought of putting Poland back under Communist rule...

Surely a coo is in the making.

I have trouble with this report because of the passengers on that plane. It does not make sense. Why would a pilot risk the lives of almost all high-level cabinet members, top military commanders members as well as the President so carelessly?

Was something going on in the plane? Why the odd statement that all cell phones were not working? How many times do we read that in the early reporting?

Maybe there is a logical explanation for each one of my doubts. I can't think that one lesson learned by our enemies on 9/11 is take the cell phones first.

Damn, Poland is such a great country. We’ll see what kind of leadership follows, that could be an indicator of whether this was an accident or sabotage. My suspicion is high.

Russia and Pooty are to blame until I’m shown otherwise. If Pooty did this as a warning to all other dissident states on its border.....

Wasn’t it foolish of the Poles to put so many important people on a single plane? Would the US ever do something like that?

There is a light in these dark times. Right now acting as president is http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bronis%C5%82aw_Komorowski
He will probably win next Presidential election, he is a wise person. Anti-communist, imprisoned by commie gov. for his dissident activity.

Oh, yes. Lech Kaczynski was much like Ronald Reagan. Very conservative and rightous - an always faithful true blue catholic, always anti-abortion and anti-euthanasia, no gay marriages and adoptions of children for gays, no immigration from hostile cultures, Poland as a faithful ally of the USA, etc. Therefore he was much hated by liberal leftists; especially criticised and rejected by so called “elites of the EU” - common marxists, as common as they come.

LOVED BY ME FOREVER, FROM NOW TO ETERNITY!

Poland is the American people’s ally.

Which is amazing considering the way we abandoned them to the USSR.

Man, look at the calendar! Today, Apr.10, is the 60th anniversary of the biggest massacre in Polish history - the Katyn Massacre.
They all flew to take part in a big commemoration of the victims of 1940.

Now they are fallen ones, the fallen ones to be commemorated as well.

I weep as I read this sad news. Praying for Poland and the surviving leaders and countrymen who will need to courageously pick up and move on to rebuild the country.
