[translation from a Polish website]
Supreme Polish leaders, including the President of the Republic of Poland, Mr Lech Kaczynski and his legendary predecessor, the President of Poland In Exile, Mr. Ryszard Kaczorowski, as well as almost entire Staff of the Polish Armed Forces die in the crash near Smolensk, Russia.

A terrible tragedy, and Americans should remember that the Poles have fought and bled beside us in both Iraq and Afghanistan.
Yes, and I am sorry for the lost of the elite of Poland.
But be encouraged by the fact that there is a survivor - the survivor is POLAND and her people!
How on earth could a country fly all of its top elite, on a single flight?
Prayers go out for Poland.
Thank you. All the more reason to morn.
Because that is all they could afford.
Poland is the American people’s ally.
May God be by the side of the people of Poland during this tragic time.
The American people are Poland’s ally. Which isn’t saying anything about the creatures that currently occupy the WH or the party in temporary power, of course.

“...Russian and Polish officials said there were no survivors on the Soviet-era Tupolev, which was taking the president, his wife and staff to events marking the 70th anniversary of the massacre of thousands of Polish officers by Soviet secret police...’
Soviet-era Tupolev....makes you WONDER?
I am sorry for their losses.
Stunned that they ALL would have been traveling together?
Motive and opportunity. What an opportunity.
Yes, in several places around the world.
Will we be seeing a move by the soviets to install a more friendly government..
MY first thought was what would now become of zero's decision to pull the missile defense system?
Also killed on the plane the Polish deputy foreign minister and the Governor of the Polish National Bank.
(Note that Poland - though an EU country - is not member of the Eurozone. It has been rumoured that the Eurozone ministers would have a telephone conference on Sunday to work out a bail out for Greece. Poland would in all likelihood not be involved.)
