The excerpt was posted to illustrate that silent protest against the government is not in the American tradition.
You claim to be well-versed in American history, so surely you cannot be unaware of well-documented incidents such as this in our past.
Hundreds of Tea Parties have been held all over the country and as you know (or should know) nothing even remotely approaching dragging government officials through the streets has been done or even suggested.
And here's a clue: our liberty is already being assaulted and is on life support. Evil triumphs when good men do nothing.
Americans have every right - no, have an obligation - to speak out loudly and forcefully in defense of our liberty. Silence bespeaks cowardice and hopefully courage hasn't yet been bred out of Americans' DNA.
You just sit back ma’am, leave the heavy lifting to the rest of us.
When it is over, then you can tell us how naive we were, and how right you were, or vice versa..
