After selling out, Rep. Bart Stupak is walking out. The Michigan Democrat who tried to pass himself off as pro-life announced Friday that he no longer seeks re-election. It's understandable that Mr. Stupak is unwilling to face voters in his working-class Upper Peninsula district after casting a decisive vote in favor of a nationalized health care plan that would allow, with the stroke of the president's pen, millions of abortions at public expense.
Many other Democrats have called it quits. Mr. Stupak is the 12th of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's disciples to announce retirement. In the upper chamber, Sens. Ted Kaufman of Delaware, Byron L. Dorgan of South Dakota, Christopher J. Dodd of Connecticut and Evan Bayh of Indiana have decided to deny voters the opportunity to cast judgment in November.

He was always just another Pelosi shill. His mission was accomplished. Now he can look forward to his bag of silver and special health benies.
20 years ago this man would have been glorified as a diety on all 4 major news networks and CNN- and no one would have known about his betrayal.
Stupid is on of the first to be unable to escape the truth with the new media light shining on him- FOX News and the Internet
Let’s see how mamny more ‘rats we can send scurrying

Iscariot, you got your 30 pieces of silver. You know what to do next.
Another chapter for “Profiles in Moderation”.
Stupak lied all along about being pro-life because NO ONE who is really pro-life would sell out their vote if they truly believed that abortion was the murder of the unborn.
There's a pro-abortion moonbat running that would have challenged Stupak from the left. But voters in the UP are more conservative than downstate MI.
STUPAK...the kind of person you teach your kids NOT to be.
Votes have consequences.
Damage done, coward leaves thru the back door from whence he came. despicable!
And what region of hell are you from you very vulgar individual. We don’t appreciate your blasphemous acronyms.
As our OpsO in H&MS-12 used to say, “SAYONARA, BUCKWHEAT!”
He will always be highly lauded in northern MI, as I suspect few there even know of his sellout, and fewer even care.
The UP is different in its politics, somewhat like West Virginia, although more Scandinavian, Finnish, French Canadian, and Italian. They like democrats because they bring home the bacon. Joe Mack and Dominic Jacobetti were legends in Michigan and were the Robert Byrd of state politics. The don't like the social liberal positions of most democrats today and are strongly pro-life and pro-gun. It's a working class area without a lot of money. Probably the most important issue up there is character. If you're perceived as a good guy, you'll do better. Bart Stupak was so entrenched up there, he was almost on the level of a Mack or Jacobetti. He probably would have won again. "He's still our Bart."
The moonbat will lose easily if she's the nominee, but I don't expect that to happen.
