I believe the new way of looking at this is “Obama has turned the economy around. People are now filled with hope. Many unemployed people are now motivated to get back into the game — and that’s why the numbers are going up. It’s ... uhhhh ... it’s a good thing.”

You’re right. Doublespeak.

Many unemployed people are now motivated to get back into the game I'd like Obamalamadingdong to tell everyone where the incentive to look for work comes from when the current unemployment compensation lasts for ninety nine weeks!

They'll spin it, of course, but the truth is there are many people who lost their job earlier in the year and didn't immediately file for unemployment benefits thinking the job search wouldn't be as dismal as it is. After months of searching and not being successful in securing employment, they've now gone through much of their savings, still have no job, and decided to go ahead and file for benefits. Quite the opposite of “getting back into the game.”
