(CNSNews.com) - Internal Revenue Service Commissioner Douglas Shulman said at the National Press Club on Monday that the IRS cannot say how many new agents it will need to enforce the new health care law signed by President Barack Obama last month.
The IRS will play a key role in the new national health care system created by the law because it will be responsible for monitoring whether people buy health insurance, as the law mandates, and for collecting a fine from those who fail to buy insurance.

How many jobs are needed to reach 5% unemployment? Ten million?
hope change screw
yes, well, once the Republicans get control of the Congress, funding for this IRS enforcement ought to be slashed to the bone. And then cut the bone, grind it to dust, and scatter it to the winds.
Hussein might think he is the Messiah, but he won’t be able to pull an Ezekiel 37....
Make us all IRS Tax Agents. Then we will all have jobs to collect the money from ourselves, to pay the taxes, fines and fees that will pay ourselves. ;-)
In all fairness, how would he or anyone else know how many IRS agents will be needed to enforce a law that is still being read by Congress, the regulators, and the bureaucrats?
I believe the healthcare bill says that the IRS has to check everyone’s insurance status...
every
single
month!
AYUP!
How do folks like the idea of being evaluated for audits monthly instead of yearly?
And this is if everything goes RIGHT (i.e. as planned). What if there are snafus and you have proof of insurance but the IRS doesn’t like it?
I'll take Obamabots for $100 Alex.
it will be responsible for monitoring >>>>>>>>>>>>>>
I will be responsible for avoiding their monitoring by voting for repeal, altering my identity ,or leaving the country, or all three simultaneously. You should be able to get the job done with about 100 thousand agents.
The man is in charge of staffing one of the largest federal expansions in the history of the US and maybe in the history of any government and he “can’t say” how many additional staff he needs?
Not even a rough number?
Either he is a liar or he is incompetent.
Estimating staffing is part of the job of any exec. This should have been something he would have looked at before the bill was done and he very likely should have been in on the process for determining a budget for the current law. He knows.
They could employ the 47% who don’t pay any income taxes to watch over the 53& who pay all the taxes.
And will they have shotguns to provide input to our health?
But then why will they take it out of your tax return if it's not a tax!
I believe there were articles recently saying they would hire 16 thousand new agents.
Obviously they will need to buy even MORE guns.......
.
Everyone is now changing a new W-2 form to mega-dependents
The IRS cannot seize or grab part of a “refund” - if you are not getting and money back
Why people do not stop giving Obama and Congress an interest-free loan every year eludes me!
[Everyone is now changing a new W-2 form to mega-dependents]
HUH?
Don’t think I’m ready to do illegal things yet.
One of his 16 thousand future agents might come for me. I’m not one of his protected ‘welfare’ people, lol.
YET, repeated...
Here is a source;
Thanks to the Democrats, the most hated agency in America, the IRS, just got 16,500 agents bigger.
