If you hear the clip, he fumbles around for a bit, then says something like “I liked the Cubs too” without naming any of them, and then claims he grew up an Oakland A’s fan in Hawaii.

At that point I would have started grilling him about Sal Bando, Joe Rudi, Gene Tenace, Rollie Fingers, Vida Blue, etc. Not sure why Rob Dibble did not do this. I guess he was afraid that if he did it would have been the last baseball game he ever broadcast in his life.

Funny, but when I was living in Hawaii, most baseball fans there were either Dodgers or Mariners fans.

I think Dibbs felt bad for him. I was actually embarassed for the fascist.

A’s fan, ey? How about Reggie Jackson? He could have gone so many different directions with this.
