...According to a knowledgeable source who would not be identified discussing sensitive national-security matters, President Obama wasn't briefed on the U.S. nuclear-strike plan against Russia and China until some months after he had taken office. "He thought it was insane," says the source. (The reason for the delay is unclear; the White House did not respond to repeated inquiries.)...

Given the outcome perhaps he shouldn’t be briefed on anything important. Did you notice how NewsWeak tried to give him cover by invoking republican presidents who also wanted nuke disarmament? They failed to mention those past presidents and O aren’t even in the same intellectual universe.
Its not surprising he wasn’t briefed. If they didn’t bother to give him some cover for the simple question ‘Who is your favorite White Sox player?’ then why would anyone expect he could answer questions on weightier subjects. LOL, it gives the distinct impression he’s WAY out of the loop and in real life he’s not so bright.
Ok ... his posture on our nuclear policy, and what he will do or not do, is beginning to truly skirt the boundaries of the “T” word. Any president who would not act to defend the USA in time of attack has violated not only his oath of office, he is giving aid and comfort to the enemy.
“President Obama wasn’t briefed on the U.S. nuclear-strike plan against Russia and China until some months after he had taken office.”
What’s newsworthy about that? He’s forty-something and has no knowledge of economics, either.
Obama may be the human version of SKY-NET.
The red buttons are probably inert.
UH...it’s ABOVE his pay grade.
For all of the constant constraints on GOP presidents, this monkey sure seems to get a pass by just about everyone who is SUPPOSED to constrain the dictatorial powers of the POTUS.
I knew what the SIOP was when I was in college in the 1980s. I knew what counterforce and countervalue targets were. Nuclear policy and arms control were popular political science topics in the 1980s.
Obama more and more seems fake. He is not smart (remember the amazingly stupid car insurance anecdote at Blair House), and he has little knowledge or interest in the very topics we are told he is knowledgeable and interested in.
The Army needs to step in and secure the White House until President Biden can be sworn in (stop laughing everyone... at least Biden is an American)
Call forwarding to Ayers.
The knucklehead probably spent the first few months combing the WH in his golden dishdasha looking for a “football” anyhow....
I don't know about *ordered* but I recall the story of Clinton's aide with the football having to walk on the streets of D.C., tote it back to the White House, as he was left out of the motorcade. Someone else may be able to locate the story, provide better details, I'm relying on memory, Rush telling the story that day.
It’s above his paygrade.
With his past association with Bill Ayers, he probably wouldn’t pass a security clearance to WORK in the White House.
Ping
I believe you are correct. The source is one of dubious nature, or rather the published source is. Newsweak.
he would ask his teleprompter what to think.
Ok-some people think this is not true. Assume that is so. WHY would the WH want this story out there then? They have not denied it to Newsweek, supposedly.
I would call it negligent. And under the UCMJ he could be prosecuted.
