The problem is that the divisions are not just between states in states. Get a county map. Essentially, the left is comprised of urban areas, some inner-ring suburbs, and Black and Latino rural counties. The rest is Republican.

Yeah, that is the problem. Even in the red areas, the urban sectors are dominated by leftists. Once an area gets urbanized it tends to vote for socialists. It appears to be a collectivist mindset that develops along with urban zones just attracting a lot of leechers and generally useless people who can kinda blend in and mooch off productive folks.

I think there may be some hope for the Black and Latino rural areas, but the urban zones are utterly hopeless. Urban areas will have to be entirely rethought going forward in order to prevent this collectivist mindset from rising over and over and over again.
