He’s overcompensating to keep from being rejected by all subcultures.
He’s been told that whites won’t accept him because of his skin color (a lie),
and that he’ll be rejected by blacks unless he’s “authentic”.
So, he goes overboard to be “authentic”.

Indeed, he is. Zer0 may be as little as 1/8th black and, at most. 3/8th. There is no evidence to suggest his Kenyan ancestors were ever slaves, but plenty to suggest they probably they engaged in the slave trade. See my tagline.
