Julius Malema, the firebrand South African youth leader who has been accused of inciting violence against white farmers, has received a hero's welcome in Zimbabwe.
Mr Malema, head of the youth wing of the ruling African National Congress (ANC), touched down in Harare to be met with a loud chorus of "Shoot the Boer" a refrain from an apartheid-era song which is now outlawed in South Africa.
The 29-year-old, who has been accused of inciting violence against South Africa's white population with his repeated renditions of the song Ayesaba Amagwala (The Cowards are Scared), will meet President Robert Mugabe on Monday as lavish celebrations begin to mark 30 years since he came to power.
Flanked by his own entourage and hordes of officials and activists loyal to Mr Mugabe, Mr Malema beamed with delight, sang and clapped along with the chanting crowds before being driven to his five-star hotel in a 30-vehicle convoy.
The controversial leader's arrival in Harare came only 12 hours after a civil rights group won an urgent application to restrain him from publicly uttering any words "which can reasonably be understood or construed as being capable of instigating violence, discord and/or hatred" between black and white people.
The ANC vowed to challenge the ruling and an earlier court judgment which declared the lyric as unconstitutional and unlawful.
South Africa's Freedom Front Plus party has described Malema as "an accessory to the wiping out of farmers in South Africa".
Some 861 white farmers have been killed since 2001, according to police, and 120 died in 2009 alone.
Mr Malema, who relishes publicity and said he would rather go to jail than stop singing the liberation song, has single-handedly exposed the true depths of racial divisions in South Africa in

Brainless savages. They deserve each other.
I guess Melema has a wish for black South Africans to starve.
They don’t call it darkest Africa for nothing, the locals are predesposed to behaving like animals.
I think it’s time for whites to simply leave Africa and leave them to their own designs. They are needed in Europe and elsewhere to stave off the barbarian hordes, not become their victims.
Too bad he couldn’t use his energies to do something about crime in Johannesburg. It’s a regular war zone and it’s not blacks versus whites.
Sounds familiar. See the book An Ordinary Man.
The Hutus ousted the Tutsi-dominated Rwanda government and for years things in Rwanda continued on. The former government organized and trained in a bordering country and was about to invade.
It was not tribal but all Tutsis were "traitors" and the Hutu-dominated government railed against the Tutsis urging their Hutu neighbors (literally next door, next desk, etc.) to "Clean your neighborhood of brush. Cut the tall trees." (The Tutsi are tall.) A large number of Hutus had been armed with machetes, and many organized, by the government.
Best part? In the global community, Malema and the World Cup spotlight expose the racism of Africa on a Global scale.
Who? In the civilized world would want to go there or support such a nation? Tourism is a huge Industry, and Malema and his many, many cohorts are destroying it. They are destroying all that is left for South Africa! Such Ambassadors! But, obviously that is what they want, enjoy and are going to gain the fruits of. It wont be much longer before they are attacking one another enjoying another fine african tradition....tribal genocide.
Back to nature boys! And then call for handouts again! Idiots.
A real man of the people, I see.
Any white person who plans to stay in South Africa is a fool.
South Africa is doomed to failure and eventual collapse. Get out while there is still time.
When the Dutch landed in South Africa there were no blacks there. Bushmen, yes, but NO blacks. Many Dutch were born in SA and never saw a black man in their life.
Then the black outsiders started moving in from the north, now they hav taken over.
Think of what will happen when Mexicans start moving into the US and start demanding they take over...Oh, wait!
The same case can be made for Kosovo, there were no Albanians there either 100 years ago. But, the US decided it wasn’t fair that Serbs wanted their land back. Sometimes even if you are there hundreds of years but the tides are against you it may be time to cut your losses and leave. Europeans at least have a home to go back to. Just like jews now have Israel.

Not necessarily. When Idi Amin expelled the Indians from Uganda India refused to take them back as none had proo they were Incian citizens. They ended up in London.
Many of the Rhodesians still had their proof of British citizenship so went there.
