State Senate is going to be a tall order. Those districts are pretty well gerrymandered and unlike the House the Senate doesn’t have a reputation as being a body where people get along to get along.
One of the reasons Prueitt switched I would imagine is because the current group of people running the Senate now are among the most petty that have been around ever.
That’s the thing. Hubbert won’t go down with a fight (and if the GOP takes over he’ll suddenly start supporting Republicans, he’s already done it in school board races) and there are many people in the state who are simply scared of contributing to the GOP Senate effort because if Bedford and Barron hang on their will be political consequences for anyone who opposed them.
I view taking the House as more likely. Less of a hurdle to go for. Seats not as gerrymandered and more prime pick ups for seats.
Interesting.
If it gets close enough in either chamber can you see a repeat of what happened with the Georgie State Senate? Where IIRC a couple rats switched and took the majority with them. This Butler sounds like a candidate.
