Middle class takes a hit as Nummi plant closes
San Francisco Chronicle / sfgate.com ^ | Friday, April 2, 2010 | Chip Johnson

April 1 was certainly no fool's joke in Fremont, where the last car - a Corolla - rolled off the assembly line at the Nummi auto plant.

It was the end of an era for a city that had built a local economy with the auto plant at the hub of the wheel. The automaker employed 4,700 workers, and related industries that provided services employed another 20,000 people.

Needless to say, the idiots at the Chronicle could never see their own fine hands in this pass with the leftist crap they've spewed over the last sixty years.

Let see if we can push all the people into small apartments in cities ,and have the countryside reserved for dachas of the political elite and government controlled huge farms.

The socialists bet your life it will work.

It opened in 1984 as a joint venture between Japanese automaker Toyota and General Motors Inc.

And its demise was assured when Government Motors pulled out of the venture. But to the commies at the Comicle its demise was a result of Reagan's economic policies and had nothing to do with unions, government take over of the auto industry and especially not because of The One.

The democrat party war on the hated middle class and the hate free enterprise system is extremely successful in California, I see.

Obama and Pelosi must be so pleased with themselves.

What is funny the author blames Reagan but then he has on an expert who dated the decline of the now Rust Belt from the mid-1970s.

“By 1982, two years after the election of President Ronald Reagan, and the era of trickle-down economics...”

Lost me there. Typical liberal pablum puke. RR was elected 30 years ago and the libs still can't get over that, and still attack him and his pro-American policies that worked.

When every scumbag San Franciscan crawls in the street, when they wallow in piles of trash and fetid waste, when their insipid, cesspool of a city collapses into a decaying midden heap that will be spoken of only in hushed tones in the dead of night to scare unruly children, then, finally, I will be satisfied.
