MOUNT DORA — A doctor who considers the national health-care overhaul to be bad medicine for the country posted a sign on his office door telling patients who voted for President Barack Obama to seek care "elsewhere." "I'm not turning anybody away — that would be unethical," Dr. Jack Cassell, 56, a Mount Dora urologist and a registered Republican opposed to the health plan, told the Orlando Sentinel on Thursday. "But if they read the sign and turn the other way, so be it." The sign reads: "If you voted for Obama … seek urologic care elsewhere. Changes to your healthcare begin right now, not in four years."

Carter dictated prices of gas when he was in office. It led to rationing. You take the free market controls away and there has to be a way to control demand. In this case you will have to control supply by mandating that doctors accept medicare at a loss. What do they do when doctors quit and there aren’t enough new doctors to replace them?

He needs to be educated on the realities of the Canadian system. I had a friend diagnosed with a heart condition. It took them three months to get an appointment for a followup in-depth scan, requiring traveling from North Bay to Toronto for the exam (about 250 miles). It confirmed she needed a triple bypass. Because of its seriousness, she was placed on the "expedite" list. Even with that, she was scheduled for the surgery seven months later. She died within two months. Say what you will, stating their system is "underfunded" is a bad joke.

Right conclusion...wrong reason. The reason is because more doctors chose those areas at a time when the price of such surgeries were very high. Given the huge time lag between seeing high surgery prices for cosmetic surgery and the time to train and be board certified, it's only lately that prices have fallen due to more competition from more cosmetic doctors. As the prices have fallen, more people have elected to have such procedures. It's ALWAYS supply and demand if you look deeply enough.
My Cardiologist laughed when I ask him if he voted for Obama..He said Hell no, and none of the doctors here did either.. It would be a shame if this wonderful Cardiologist ever had to leave his work..

Yeah...he could REALLY stick it to you...I had a friend once who gave up a very successful Dental practice to become a Proctologist...said he couldn’t take the thought of spending the rest of his life looking down people’s throats.
I used to work in Mt. Dora and what’s even funnier is I worked with Estella Chatman who is one of the big wigs in the NAACP in Lake county, Fl. She’s a nice lady but she’s big on blaming Whitey for everything. I think its great that this doctor did that, anybody that voted for Obama is personally responsible for this $hit
