The Kim Jong-Il regime in North Korea is moving closer to appointing Kim's son as the new dictator by preparing official portraits of Kim Jong-Un. The Daily NK, which boasts of having sources and communications with people inside the totalitarian state, reported March 15 that authorities in Pyongyang are preparing to distribute portraits of Kim Jong-Un, Kim's youngest son. Some analysts have interpreted the portrait preparations as a further sign in the decline of Kim's health. The leader suffered a stroke last year but U.S. intelligence analysts said he appeared to have recovered after treatment by foreign doctors.

Lee Young Hwa, president of the Japanese human rights organization "Rescue the North Korean People! Urgent Action Network" (RENK), told a South Korean daily newspaper that “North Korean authorities are planning to distribute portraits of Kim Jong-Un in the near future."

"They appear to be rushing the idolization process due to the bad health of Kim Jong-Il."

Lee added: "I heard this from an official inside the Chosun (North Korea) Workers' Party in Pyongyang who told me, 'As per an instruction from the Propaganda and Agitation Department of the Central Committee, they are preparing to distribute a portrait of Kim Jong Eun.' This move looks like preparation for a statement announcing Kim Jong Eun as the successor in the near future."

The official unveiling of the new portrait could take place April 15, the birthday of communist founder Kim Il-Sung

Note: the page (on the Workers World Party website) with this photo has recently been removed.

But here's other evidence of his speaking at the event:

"Among the many speakers were elected representatives—U.S. Rep. Charles Rangel and New York City Council members Charles Barron and Margarita Lopez—who have bucked their party to come out against the war. Barron has also introduced a Troops Out Now resolution in the City Council."--Workers World Party
