When the H1N1 vaccine first became available last fall, the doses were worth their weight in gold to many people desperate to get the shot, but now it’s being reported the government is about to throw away millions of those “precious” vaccines.
The news comes just days after health officials warned Americans the H1N1 flu season is not over yet, with the Southeast reporting an increase in cases of the virus.
According to a report in the Washington Post, less than half of the 229 million doses of the vaccine the government bought to fight the virus have been administered, which leaves an estimated 71.5 million doses that will have to be discarded if they are not used before they expire.
Still, government officials said they are “satisfied with the effort.”

There aren’t enough American Indians available to dispose of tens of millions of doses.
The government estimates around ninety million does have been administered if we accept the highest estimate, leaving about one hundred and forty million doses unused.
The headline says seventy million does will need to be destroyed.What happens to the remaining seventy million doses?
What’s really laughable is that Sebelius didn’t get her H1N1 flu shot until yesterday - after all her badgering and the scaremongering!! Sheesh.
As a consequence --
1. There are no longer any on-shore developers and manufacturers of vaccines.
2. There is too little vaccine when we need it.
3. And too much when we don't.
The federal government's vaccine program is a case study in what Obamacare will become.

Is this result yet another government boondoggle? As I recall this species of flu was hyped as if we were going to have another epidemic like the Black Death of the fourteenth century.

I heard last week that only 5% of the blood samples sent to labs tested positive H1N1 and people were starting to question the World Health Organization (WHO) for the Henny Penny Sky is Falling hysteria. As a matter of fact the report said more people died of the common flu in the U.S. I just knew I should have saved that article...

Neighbor go the flu and they quarantined the whole family for a week. After that, the results came back negative.

Our local news just reported that the Feds are taking back the vaccines, that WE PAID FOR WITH OUR TAX DOLLARS and GIVING them to other countries ‘in need.’
I can’t hardly WAIT until these idiots are in charge of my OB-GYN exams. *Rolleyes*
