This past week weve seen a lot of criticism of the nearly $2,000 in RNC money that was spent at Voyeur West Hollywood, a bondage-themed night club.
. . .
This whole uproar is just plain silly and I think the GOP is making a big mistake here. The Republican Party must seek to broaden its reach without betraying its own principles. So long as no laws or marital vows are being broken, then what happens between consenting adults is no one elses business.
The GOP has a broad variety of coalitions based upon ethnic heritages, professions and various interests. Why not a BDSM one?
. . .
Jim Geraghty of National Review Onlines Campaign Spot concurs that we shouldnt act so hastily:
Now, look, if the end result of this mess is that the RNC recruits some Mistress Esmeralda to take on West Hollywood Congressman Henry Waxman, and running on a platform of fiscal discipline and whipping our budget into shape, she beats him er, at the ballot box in a D+18 district, all is forgiven.
Hey, if the RNC had a BDSM coalition in the 90s, then Dominatrixes for Dole might have helped Bob Dole win the presidency in 1996.

Except when it is happening with someone else’s money ...

Ah yes, the “big tent.”
Michael Steele MUST go. Hire Limbaugh to run the party through the elections.
So... what, the author is advocating that everyone in Washington dress in leather and studs?
So I ask this writer, “What are the Republican Party’s principles,” such that a bondage-themed restaurant can’t possibly go against them?
Also, what’s wrong with donors individually choosing to defund the GOP based on what they know? Finally, what’s wrong with the GOP trying to keep those donors by “unpaying” the expense?
Get real.
Now who in the biden thinks that this is a good idea? Just another cheapening of American society.
Or at least tied up and bullwhipped.
I think Bob already had that constituency (ahem) locked up.
how many other such expenses are being covered up?
This is what happens when you feed the RINOs.
PLEASE DON’T FEED THE RINOS
I think it was Tyrell in American Spector who said of Republican “big tent” politics during the reign of Bush Sr., “the tent keeps getting bigger and bigger, and more and more empty”!
So we desperately need the votes of gals who work pretending they’re lesbians to win in 2010 and 2012?
Finally a use for RINOs. For every 500 dollars you give the RNC you get one crack of the whip at Lindsey Graham.
Liberal gibberish in order to make Republicans look bad.
Umm..is that the “big tent” in front of Michael Steel's pants after a visit to Mistress Domina at Hollywood? Chortle!
So where is the news that DNC spent $10,000.00 at Josephines strip club and expensed it? No mention of ever returning it either.
I don’t think it’s been alleged that Steele visited the establishment. . .
If members of the RNC want to grease up the Doberman and play all night on their own dime there is nothing I can or particulary want to do about it. But If they do it using my money you can bet your life they will never see another dime from me. I don’t make a lot of money and can only send in small contributions and when I do this it means I have to cut back somewhere (and, yes, I have sent the RNC money in the past). So I don’t want the money spent on anything other than things that directly relate to the campaign to defeat the leftists and not on joy rides or lavish parties or limos or private jets or whores. If the RNC is made up of people too stupid or degraded to understand this then I am all too willing to deny them any further support. Until the RNC can prove they have cleaned up their act any contributions I make in the future will go directly to candidates and the RNC can go pound sand.
