The RNC Is Making A BIG Mistakeā€¦ (RNC Expense "Scandal")
Virginia Virtucon ^ | 4/1/2010 | StaffordGOPer

This past week we’ve seen a lot of criticism of the nearly $2,000 in RNC money that was spent at Voyeur West Hollywood, a “bondage-themed night club.”

. . .

This whole uproar is just plain silly and I think the GOP is making a big mistake here. The Republican Party must seek to broaden its reach without betraying its own principles. So long as no laws or marital vows are being broken, then what happens between consenting adults is no one else’s business.

The GOP has a broad variety of coalitions based upon ethnic heritages, professions and various interests. Why not a BDSM one?

. . .

Jim Geraghty of National Review Online’s Campaign Spot concurs that we shouldn’t act so hastily:

Now, look, if the end result of this mess is that the RNC recruits some Mistress Esmeralda to take on West Hollywood Congressman Henry Waxman, and running on a platform of fiscal discipline and whipping our budget into shape, she beats him – er, at the ballot box in a D+18 district, all is forgiven.

Hey, if the RNC had a BDSM coalition in the ’90s, then “Dominatrixes for Dole” might have helped Bob Dole win the presidency in 1996.

You gotta be getting the full gimp treatment to spend $2000 at a bondage club.

True.
But it does give a whole new meaning to the term “big tent” Republicans. Now we know exactly what the RINO’s have been going on about all these years.

I wholeheartedly support the "consenting adults" thing when it comes to private citizens in their own homes, but that's not what this is about. People are donating money to the Republican Party to combat the blatant socialism being imposed on this nation by the Democrats. Conservative candidates who could work to repeal not only ObamaCare but roll back the federal government in general are starving for campaign funds while RNC members party with donor funds in strip clubs, squander donated money on private jets and bask in luxury at the Four Seasons. Totally irresponsible and frivolous, and symptomatic of why Republicans lost Congress in the first place.

It is most disturbing to learn that such sleazy people work within the National Republican Committee! No wonder it is losing members left and right.....well right anyway!

Reuters seems all over the allegedly scandalous RNC expenses, but I could not find analogous Reuters coverage
of this apparently equally scandalous DNC expense. Am I missing something or is this just more msm bias?

Also exactly who went to the bondage club? Was this just a bachelorette party for female RNC staffers?? And if so, did they have shaved armpits or not?? Inquiring minds (ahem) want to know.

It is media bias. That link shows the Josephine’s expense on DNC FEC report.

I did hear Megan on Fox News talk about the DNC expense so I had to search for the story. It was the RNC spokesman who brought it to light but on air he said he did not know much.

Megan said the guy was a GOP consultant. YIKES! What does he consult in.Young eagles need this?

http://hotlineoncall.nationaljournal.com/archives/2010/03/rnc_fires_young.php

“A CA GOP consultant, Erik Brown, was reimbursed for the expense after a Young Eagles event in Beverly Hills. A CA blog reported that an RNC staffer’s credit card was declined at the club, so Brown grudgingly put the expense on his own card.”
