Strategists: GOP is peaking too early

Former President Bill Clinton's top political strategists, who had a front-row seat for the Republicans' 1994 electoral successes, said Wednesday that the GOP today is peaking too early and is unlikely to see a repeat performance this November.

Pollster Stan Greenberg said a "change election," as political scientists call major shifts in electoral preferences, already happened when Republican Scott Brown's surprise victory for Sen. Edward M. Kennedy's Senate seat, and between then and November, Democrats will have gained back ground.

"When we look back on this, we're going to say Massachusetts is when 1994 happened," Mr. Greenberg said.

Clinton rump swabs. Still, much work needs to be done to clean up the liberals mess and nonsense.

GOP peaked when it ran Dole. Over time we have been bamboozled by the GOP.

If this is the peak - if this is the best we can do - then we are in trouble.

Did the clairvoyant Mr. Greenberg take into account Obama's continued destruction of America?

Obama will continue pushing his agenda and that will keep the base fired up. IIRC there’s a special election in May for a congressional seat. We’ll see how that goes.

Only true if the GOP and Tea Party People don’t keep up the pressure and if Obama and Congress behave themselves (MOST UNLILKELY) between now and November.

During the Clinton years I learned not to get my hopes up too high.

Besides, I have little faith in most of the people that simply exist and occupy space in this country.

Unless the economy improves in some substantive way between now and the November elections, the Dems are going to get creamed. It has NOTHING to do with the Republican peaking, or whatever other nonsense Mr. Greenburg is pouting. To borrow a phrase from his old boss, "It's the economy, stupid.

It was McCain’s turn.

Give me a break.

That has always (since Dole) been their rallying cry. It’s my turn! Like a bunch of children. Then they re-align and guide the primaries to get that result. All the while letting the people think they made the choice.

To the detriment of the people.

We better hope not, if this is the case, the USA is officially a finished bastion of freedom.

While people were upset when the Democrats used every trick in the book to “pass” socialized medicine in this country, the details of what we are all now FORCED to live under are only now coming to light.

And the more details that drip out, the more opposition to the legislation builds.

Who signed that bill again? Who wanted to pass it without voting on it? Who?

The public will remember this in the fall.

This isn't near the peak. If the dems did nothing else and tried to lick their wounds maybe they could scratch their way back up a bit and this would be a peak....but the progressives are flush with power and there is no way they won't push more destructive bills down the throats of Americans.

So the bottom line is, democrats won't allow this to be the peak, they will create higher peaks for conservatives through their increasingly damaging and oppressive policies.

Next up, cap and tax & amnesty. do they think that's going over without America taking note?
