How do they know the machine ‘malfunctioned’ - isnt a slot machine supposed to be random?

I say this casino needs much fewer customers if this is what they are going to do when you win

No, they are all 'programmed' now so the casino will know exactly how much they will make, and when they will pay out.

Agree. As I see it, the only way they could know it was a “malfunction” would be if they knew the machine was rigged to NEVER pay out the grand prize.

I also find it suspicious that there were no details about the nature of the supposed “malfunction”.
