Why should it? He’s a horrible RNC chair, but the RNC chair has to do a lot of traveling. So you have a choice: commercial, charter or buy your own. It sounds like he threw out the suggestion to find out if it would be cheaper.

Yeah, I agree. I'm not a big fan of the job Steele is doing, but it certainly may be more cost effective - long term - to buy a jet. It also may be cost effective to purchase a share of a jet. All these options are worth considering, so I'm not willing to throw Steele under the bus on this, but he should know that, fairly or not, people are watching him closely.

Having said all this, I am very, very concerned that Steele may not fully leverage our position in the November elections. If we doing anything less than take one House of Congress it will be a failure of EPIC proportions.

I don’t think he’s an awful chair, but he hasn’t been as good a one as I thought he would be. And I agree with your assessment about what this thing is about. Just because he one time made such a request is completely insignificant to me. Why is this being leaked and by whom? The 2K expense for questionable entertainment is much more concerning to me. But once again, is it true? What are the circumstances? And why not deal with it quietly instead of announcing it publicly? This is not being handled very well.

And billed RNC nearly $2K that he dropped at an S&M nightclub (featuring simlated lesbian sex onstage) because.... he was... um, he was... seriously, tell me what could possibly justify this.
