According to two knowledgeable sources, Republican National Committee chairman Michael Steele once raised the possibility of using party money to buy a private jet for his travel.

According to federal disclosure records, the RNC spent $17,514 on private aircraft in the month of February alone (as well as $12,691 on limousines during the same period). There are no readily identifiable private plane expenses for Democratic National Committee chairman Tim Kaine in the DNC’s last three months of filings.

A February RNC trip to California, for example, included a $9,099 stop at the Beverly Hills Hotel, $6,596 dropped at the nearby Four Seasons, and $1,620.71 spent [update: the amount is actually $1,946.25] at Voyeur West Hollywood, a bondage-themed nightclub featuring topless women dancers imitating lesbian sex.

I left the GOP almost two years ago. Its corruption goes far beyond Michael Steele. But good luck.

You would think, especially if it gave the dinos something to write about other than how mad people are at the Dem.
There are some strip clubs that have attached restaurants that are often fairly good places to eat and places that you could take your family but are completely separate from the dancing area. I am curious about the charges being listed as “meals” though. Secondly, I don’t know that people need an index of banned restaurants to eat at because they are loosely associated with something seamy. But if you need your orgy of anger and outrage, I don’t intend to get in your way.

A Daily Caller report Monday pointed out the expenditure, which was for almost $2,000 at Voyeur West Hollywood.
An RNC spokesperson said the committee is looking into the matter, but said the expenditure was made by a non-committee staffer and added that the report erroneously hinted that RNC Chairman Michael Steele attended the club.
“The chairman was never at the location in question, he had no knowledge of the expenditure, nor does he find the use of committee funds at such a location at all acceptable,” the spokesperson said. “Good reporting would make that distinction crystal clear. The committee has requested that the monies be returned to the committee and that the story be corrected so that it is accurate.”

Ford didn’t take any tax payer money. If your image is of a major company exec driving around in a Focus, that’s fine. I prefer to let them do whatever the company deems best.

Good grief. Not that I have huge opbjections to strip clubs — I don’t frequent them personally, but whatever. To each his own. But, if you’re gonna have to report it to the FEC ... its probably better to spend your own money on topless entertainment.

A patron’s review of the “club”:
“Oh. Wow.
Rolled up here with 6 girls around midnight on a Saturday night after we realized that the crowd at Crown Bar had gone drastically downhill.
The girl at the door sent us in right away and told us to go to a table by the bar and get some free Champagne. Seriously. This club is amazing. There are topless “dancers” acting out S&M scenes throughout the night on one of the side stages, there’s a half-naked girl hanging from a net across the ceiling and at one point I walked to the bathroom and pretty much just stopped dead in my tracks to watch two girls simulating oral sex in a glass case.
Really understated elegance here.
Also, Lindsay Lohan was at our table at one point.
Great place to let loose on a Saturday night in Weho.”
Weho stands for West Hollywood. Should mean “We be Hoes”
