I have read on another post that there is Aztec print curtains hung on the sailor’s rack and the cooks prepare authentic Mexican cuisine.

Never understood why they would name ships after states that are hundreds of miles from the nearest ocean;)

There is an increasing chance that some of our submarines afloat today will eventually see combat. The reason being is that there has been a huge proliferation of capable combat submarines in the world. Some 30 countries now have them

Many of these are new model German and Swedish built diesel electric, air independent boats that are particularly quiet and hard to detect. And while the offspring of the submarine detection system called SOSUS, the Integrated Undersea Surveillance System (IUSS), is particularly capable at detecting submarines, there is still a strong chance for some submarine warfare in the future.

My pleasure. BTW, thank YOU for the threads you put up, I have never seen any thread started by you that didn't have something in it that I was fascinated by, and learned something from.

Just thought you'd like to know. Have a good week. ;)

Pretty cool, but real submarines are named after fish.

Good question! My son(himself of the Dolphin tribe) shuttled dignitaries to the launch site; said it was a hoot! That’s a big boat!

That’s for sure, and I’ll take the New Mexican.

It will cost 4 times as much to run as the other ones, there will be twice as many support personnel, there will be a lot of dead people voting on how to run it and the captain will have 7 DWI’s.

Yup. New Mexican food is pretty much going to kill me, but it will be worth it.
