Anyway , would you rather have Mitt , Huck or Pawlenty? Your choices are probally down to the four or you can sit out again and help that pig Obama get another term.
Forget about crossing your fingers for some fantasy of another canidate emerging from somewhere else to save the day. If you do not have a pac raising money now and are active by campaigning and collecting you I.O.U's , then you will be too far behind to mount a serious run later. Only four republicans are this far in the process.
Another point to think about , Palin probally did this as part of a larger strategy. To middle America , people who don't identify strictly to party or ideology but usually decide the election , seeing Palin and McCain together was a nice contrast to Obama and Pelosi and a lot of them voted for Obama have huge regrets and after seeing Palin and Mccain together , wished they had voted the other way. I am talking about Reagan democrats who voted for Perot and have been the swing vote that decides elections.
McCain supported Scott Brown before Brown was cool.

The only absurdity is the idea that we should anoint a “savior” now and follow in lockstep. No politician should be given a pass. They should all be held to account for their actions. Particularly this many years before the next presidential primary.
Palin has been campaigning for McCain. She supported a “windfall profits” tax in Alaska. She supported the bridge to nowhere. That's her record. That's the record of a Republican, not an agenda conservative. That's all well and good, but shouting down people for bringing up these issues is Democratesque and reminiscent of the “Bush can do no wrong” years.

That's a tad over the line, but these third-party weirdos never make much sense and don't tend to have much of a grasp on reality. Accusations like that are ZOT-able offenses as far as I'm concerned. She's a troll.
Honestly, all this hand-wringing about “tearing each other apart” is in itself destructive. It offers up the false hope that if somehow we all just try to get along, and accept the best we can get because its the best we can get and if we don’t accept that then we have to accept Obama, then everything will be ok.
Nothing could be further from the truth.
If Sarah Palin chooses to support a candidate who has proven himself to be part of the problem, then she should answer for it.
If her answer is sufficient, then people should forgive her.
If her answer is not sufficient, then she should face consequences.
The idea that Conservatives have to accept the best they can get is an idea whose time has come and gone. Politicians get away with exactly what we let them get away with. This is a marketplace for ideas. Let creative destruction result in the best ideologically acceptable and competent candidate possible. Notice they must be both ideologically acceptable and competent.
You’re telling me that in a country of this size we have to settle for choosing from a handful of Republican hopefuls, and that among those we have to accept the one that is “good enough” without hashing out differences and holding each accountable?
I say that is a recipe for loosers, and if we take that approach we deserve to loose in November.
