Who Is Allowed To Search Birth Records?

When you need to find birth records you can easily do this online but there are some limitations that you need to know about. When you search for birth records this is known as a reverse birth records search. There are databases online where you can find public birth records. However, before you do that here are the limitations that you need to know.

The public birth records are kept by the government. Each state in the U.S. keeps records of the births that occur. These records are usually based on the birth certificates that are received from hospitals. You may be able to find out information about someone’s birth but you won’t be able to get their actual birth certificate but some people can get a copy of it.

The birth records are always filed with the local registrar in whatever county the birth happened in and these are always filed electronically. The people that are allowed to get a copy of birth records are the person that is on the birth certificate, the parents of the person, the child of the person on the certificate, the legal guardian of the registrant, a legal representative of the person on the certificate or an heir of the person named on the birth certificate.

One thing that you want to remember when you do a reverse birth records search is that in order to get a copy of the birth certificate you will have to pay a small fee. You will want to do some research to find out more about getting the birth records that you need. Always do your research first before you do any search.

I really did not want to go here but I am Irked!

When I moved from one state to another I had to have a current State ID in order to do what you need to present a Birth Certificate (BC) to that Secretary of State.

Find

I haven't driven for over 30 years so I need to have presented my Birth Certificate a 2nd time to the same Secretary of State again to get a learners permit.

Also to change the title of the car and to get tags.

Ok

At the time of all this I had my State Photo ID that I could not get if I had not present all of the vital information.

In the mean time other things happen and I was not able to follow up on my driving because of other personal thing that needs my attention.

All right things have settled down the Learners permit expire need to renew etc yet again I needed my Birth certificate to present to the same Secretary of State which they have a copy on file in order to get a renewed permit.

But one can run for the President of the United Sates without a Birth certificate maybe there was no Secretary of State one needed to present it too!

BTW an Obama supporter thinking on this is to “turn our words on us” with such statements as

Freedom isn’t free...

Meaning to them this type of subjection to an American citizen is needed to maintain security!

Yet when you asks why one can run for the president of the USA without a Birth Certificate....

One is hurled a bunch contemptible accusations just for a reasonable observation!

The article you linked to had some search engines for finding public records data but the ones that said they were free aren’t really free.

I’ve been doing a lot of investigation about this very issue. Some of my work can be seen at http://butterdezillion.wordpress.com/2010/01/11/red-flags-in-hawaii-2/ .

Do you have a membership in any of these search sites that allow you to do searches on the public records, such as birth, marriage, divorce, and death records? If somebody has access to do a search I’d love to be in contact with them.

The responses I’ve gotten from the free searches available lead me to believe that the data has been scrubbed so I don’t want to subscribe to a search service only to find they don’t have any records. But if somebody has a subscription already and is willing to help out, I’d love to have them check to see if certain records have been scrubbed. If anybody has a subscription and is willing to do some checking for me, please private mail me. =)
