Hundreds of people turned out Saturday to show their support for state Attorney General Rob McKenna and his decision to join a lawsuit with a dozen other states trying to overturn sweeping federal health care legislation.
McKenna spoke to the crowd for about 15 minutes, drawing loud cheers with comments such as "these are your steps, your building and this is your government." McKenna spoke of individual rights and the unconstitutionality of the federal government requiring citizens to buy a commercial product. He also noted the unconstitutionality of the federal government requiring states to expand their Medicaid programs.
The article notes that McKenna has been mentioned as a possible candidate for Governor to replace Christine Fraudoire in 2012.
Washington State ping
Bring it on!
"I will blog more later, but, I wanted to let you all know that today, on the Capitol steps, on two days notice, 3,000 people gathered from around the state to support our Attorney General, Rob McKenna, and his lawsuit on Obamacare. Let me say that again: two days notice, three thousand people. The American people arise ."
My husband went to an event for Dick Muri(R), who is challenging Adam Smith(D). He said it was a nice crowd and they were enthusiastic about the candidate. Muri mentioned his fundraising, which he said has now reached the point were the Republican National Committee will send you some money, as you look like you might have a chance. I haven't seen Adam Smith on any list of "vulnerable" candidates; but, perhaps this race is still under the "radar" for the people who look at such things. Kirby Wilbur was also there for the intro of the candidate.
Washington state BUMP.
Good work.
Was this in Seattle? 12 to one against ObamaCare based on the crowds is pretty good? Pretty awesome.
If a rally to protest Obamacare can draw 3,000 people to the capitol of the People's Socialist Republic of Washington, I'm more encouraged than I was just yesterday. Thanks for the update.
They were on the steps of the State capitol in Olympia. It’s incredible.
McKenna ping!
How did we get from 3,000 people to 850 people? Media lying? How lib is Olympia?
Quick Story:
A friend has a friend in WA state. He moved out there 15 years or so ago. His business was doing well during Bush etc. I think it is automotive racing repair & engine building, aftermarket, etc.
He voted for Hussein. His support keeps dropping and dropping because he is almost out of business. Smart guy too, hard worker, focused. I heard his business will fail. Knowing the economy, I am sure it will.

KOMO News Seattle described it as Rock star reception for health plan rebel McKenna while the Olympian headlined it as I represent you, McKenna tells large crowd of supporters on Capitol steps and trying to write off attendance as a mere 850.
Sorry, Olympian, but Washington State Police told us it takes 2,000 people to fill Capitol steps and not only were those steps filled, the crowd spilled over to half fill the street between the Capitol Building and the Temple of Justice.
He also has some beautiful photos of the Washington State patriots on the capitol steps in his facebook. If anyone who's a facebook member and can get his permission to post his pictures (with link and attribution), they'd make a great addition to this thread.
Eagles up, Washington!
Christine Gregoire is threatening to cut off funds for him. Typical Dem thuggery. I hate her and always have.
The facebook photo page is open to everyone, facebook member or not.
BTW, I am Lew Waters.
It was a great rally and speaking with State Troopers afterwards, they welcome our rallies as they know we will not cause trouble and that we always leave the area well policed afterwards.
The turnout was unbelievable with just 2 days notice.
Oh, LOL! Nice to meet you, Lew. I enjoyed reading your blog and admiring the facebook pictures. Since some people are blocked from facebook in the workplace, I thought we might ask if we could post one of your photos on this thread. At your discretion, of course.
Thank you all for your time.
Feel free to post them as you see fit.
Nice meeting you too.
