Barb has a pig's valve in her heart.
No kidding?
I would call that insurance against any Muslim terrorists getting too close. ;)
Prayers for a quick recovery!

Bushs husband drove her to the hospital. "Bush's husband?" How crass. I guess it's too much trouble to say "Mrs. Bush was driven to the hospital by her husband, former President George H.W. Bush." Or, "Mrs. Bush's husband drove her to the hospital."

At the time she had hers they used pig's on older people and artificial on younger people.
I have a friend who got an artificial valve about the same time, by the same surgeon Barbara had.

Not my point. It was now that some of the media says animal valve rather than pig valve.

Otto's is still there and in fact, they have a couple of dishes named for the Bush family.
Sfuzzi's Pizza was another place they would be spotted. I don't know if that's there anymore.

More likely the USSS drove as they still have USSS protection. Don’t see them allowing Bush 41 to drive.

Fuzzy’s Pizza is very much still there and I saw President Bush the Elder there about a year ago. Fuzzy and wife treat them and their guests VERY well.

gotcha!...at last. LOL!
I thought for some reason they had stopped using pig's valves. Who would want a good pig's valve used on one of "them" anyway? LOL!
My cousin's husband had surgery (removed an organ) last Monday at MD Anderson and went home on Tuesday ...a robot did the surgery!

Do you remember the old hamburger place on a side street close to Memorial Park and Waugh at Sheppard ...people would come in cut-offs in pickups or formal attire in limos.
It was in an old wooden building....and the hamburgers were great. I don't remember the name.

Oh dear, prayers for Barbara, George H. W., and all of their family. Barbara and 41 have had such a long, happy marriage—a great example in this troubled world.

We live in the same part of town as the Elder Bush couple and I see them every so often at the pharmacy, movie store, pizza parlor etc. They are always accompanied by several secret service people. The SS go into the store ahead of them and check it out and then walk in with the Bushes and stay very close. Other than having SS with them they behave just like anyone else while doing their business in the stores. I was in Walgreens one day when 2 people in dark suits, sunglasses and wires in their ears came in and looked up and down every aisle. Very soon Babs was in there shopping for shampoo and hand lotion. She could have sent someone to Walgreens with a shopping list, I'll bet Hillary and MO do.

...contrast that with some other exes who use the SecSer as their personal servants. And treat them badly, at that. Chelsea Clinton once referred to a secret service agent as a pig. When he mildly suggested she not do that, she replied, "That's what my parents call you." Disgusting people, the Clintons. Very nouveau riche.

Fuzzys Pizza is very much still there and I saw President Bush the Elder there about a year ago. Haven't been to that place in ages, although I always liked it. I've been working out of town a lot over the last few years, only coming home for brief stays.
I never saw the Bushes there, but a couple of my friends have. The only person of any note I saw there was Chronicle columnist Ken Hoffman, sometime in the mid-90s. He was there with a blonde lady and my friends and I noticed the two of them never said a single word to each other during their entire meal.
