Christians Stand Up To Glenn Beck [The White Man's "Jeremiah Wright" Hits Back At Glenn Beck]

Christians Stand Up To Glenn Beck

By Jim Wallis Saturday, March 27

Glenn Beck has picked a fight with me, but he recently started a more troubling battle with the nation's churches with his criticism that "social justice" is "code" for "communism" and "Nazism," and that Christians should leave their churches if they preach, practice or even have the phrase on their Web site.

While Beck initially claimed that "social justice is a perversion of the Gospel," he now suggests his concern was really the association of the phrase with "Big Government." He even adds that when "social justice" refers simply to individual charity, it is permissible to him. But for millions of people, this is not a joking matter. Christians across the theological and political spectrum believe that social justice is central to the teachings of Jesus and at the heart of biblical faith. Because Christians couldn't "turn in" their pastors to "church authorities" as Beck suggested (the pope would turn himself into . . . himself), many have started turning themselves in to Beck as "social justice Christians" -- 50,000 at last count.

Journalists, cable and radio talk shows, and even Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert have reported on or spoofed Beck's attempt to discredit this concept. What might be lost in all this are the facts that a commitment to social justice unites Christian churches of different doctrinal and political beliefs. Even leaders in Beck's own church and scholars of Mormonism have made it clear that they believe social justice is integral to their faith and that they want it known he doesn't speak for the church.

You are kidding, right?

You are questioning my patriotism because I don’t fall down and worship Beck?? Seriously. You have NO CLUE!

I have a Savior already and it isn’t Glen Beck!

Frankly I am tired of everyone drooling over him. He hasn’t even been around long enough to be considered a ‘Great’ Conservative and he sure isn’t no R.R.!

And I didn’t like Beck long before I found out he was LDS, I think he is a clown and hard to take seriously.

I know many feel that way, but I seem as clownish and immature and think that he feeds the stupidity of American culture.

Sorry, but I expect people to be able to carry on a conversation and Beck just wants to be an entertainer. When he was at CNN his ‘only sane person in the building’ schtick worked because HE WAS the only sane person in the building. At Fox, it makes him look like a hack.

And I certain would not call Beck a ‘genius’. More like a cardboard cutout of Rush but not done as well.

I see it as worship.

I can stand on the principles of liberty without kowtowing to Beck.

I have a mind of my own, TYVM.

By your comments it shows you do not know anything about Glenn Beck accept the he is Mormon...

By your lack of comments it shows you do not know anything about PRESBYTERIANism except what the MORMONs have taught you.

American Descent into Marxism:
http://www.snopes.com/politics/soapbox/pravda.asp

Parallels between Abraham Lincoln and Barack Obama:

1. Lincoln placed his hand on the Bible for his inauguration. Obama used the same Bible.

2. Lincoln came from Illinois. Obama comes from Illinois.

3. Lincoln served in the Illinois Legislature. Obama served in the Illinois Legislature.

4. Lincoln had very little experience before becoming President. Obama had very little experience
before becoming President.

5. Lincoln rode the train from Philadelphia to Washington for his inauguration. Obama rode the train
from Philadelphia to Washington for his inauguration.

6. Lincoln was a skinny lawyer. Obama is a skinny lawyer.

7. Lincoln was a Republican. Obama is a skinny lawyer.

8. Lincoln was highly respected. Obama is a skinny lawyer.

9. Lincoln was born in the United States. Obama is a skinny lawyer.

10. Lincoln was honest; so honest, he was called Honest Abe. Obama is a skinny lawyer.

11. Lincoln saved the United States. Obama is a skinny lawyer.

Uncanny, isn’t it?

I taught college level because I thought I would at least have kids who wanted to learn, wanted to be there. Nope. Instead, I had kids who I had no idea how they even graduated High School much less got into college.

American public education is horrific to say the least, and I have seem some private schools that weren’t much better.

What IS sad is MORMONism trying to make CHRISTIANITY something that it isn't.

Uncanny, isn’t it?

Joseph Smith was a famous Preacher in the Eastern USA. His teaching empire grew to include acquisition of valuable printing assets and intimate dealings with the Missouri courts.

He devoted several years of his early life to exploratory service, finally taking leave to assume his dealings with various Spiritual Beings.

As an adjunct to his exploratory work, Mummies and papyrus are purchased from Michael Chandler.  On July 19, 1835 at age 29; Joseph began translating the papyrus. It will be known as the Book of Abraham, generating quite a lot of interest by leading archeological experts.

In 1844, he was a key player in a vital investigation run by the authorities in Carthage, Hancock County, Illinois. That same month, Smith passed away during an important civic function held in his honor when the excitable group who had come to visit him pressed too many into the room he was in and his death resulted.
