We should never forget that Olympia Snow caused this Health Care DISASTER.
REMEMBER WHAT SHE SAID AT THE TIME:
"I do it with reservations because I share my Republican colleagues' trepidation about what will transpire on the Senate floor and later on in the legislative process", Snowe said.
Too bad she didn't respect her own trepidation. What a disaster her vote has brought upon us.
The people in Maine should take her to task and point out that her decision has had CATASTROPHIC consequences. Is she scheduling town meetings? If she will not pledge to avoid the same debacle relating to amnesty and cap and trade, then maybe a conservative challenger should take her on in the primaries. If a demoncrat then wins--we probably haven't lost that much anyway.
It didn’t matter - they had the votes without her.
Nice try.
As usual she was talking out of both sides of her mouth.
Good post! I have not forgotten that she is the culprit in turning the Country towards socialism/communism. There was no reason to let it move forward and people should not forget this beast.
They didn’t need her vote.
McCain-Feingold gave the Dems control of Congress 2006/2008 and White hut 2008. MCCAIN is even more responsible. I wish Bush would have veto’ed it.
Not true! They had to have at least one republican to consent to vote it out of committee. She was that vote. without her, no HC bill would have passed.
Sad but true, there were enough commies without her to do the deed.
Never forget, we have some work to do, and little time to do it.
“They didnt need her vote.”
So all is fine, eh? LOL!
McCain is responsible for all those DEM money PAC’s with Dr. Evil Soros behind them.
Then she shouldn’t have voted for it.
I’ll go with “Arlen Specter switches partys to give dems 60 votes in US Senate for $1,000, Alex!!”
She needs to be kicked unceremoniously to the curb, retired to tend a rock strewn olive grove on a Greek island miles from nowhere, and there to contemplate her sins.
The question is, can someone to the right of her get elected in her state?
Here in my Michigan district we’ve got a marxist democrat congressman but can and probably will turn hard right with the election of our former congressman who is a staunch social and fiscal conservative (not to mention the fact that he’s a Baptist minister)
Our governor’s mansion can also go far to the right of Jenny Granholm but probably not as far to the right as my district.
In the end it all comes down to what the voters will accept.
You’re not allowed to change the titles.
Surely you jest. They elect her. Once an eccentric and independent breed, the "people of Maine" have become just another under-informed, easily manipulated, American-style, mall-infesting peasantry. The life went out of here some time ago, well before our small towns got their first piercing and tattoo parlor.
Maine is just part of a national trend. E.G., Boxer, Feinstein, Snowe, Collins, Pelosi ... front people for a socialist agenda ... and their husbands' business interests.... which no one can ever seem to figure out.
They campaign about ""Helping People,"Hope, Change, Diversity, A Woman's Right to Choose, Diversity, Fairness, Education, Peace, Love, Woodstock" ... not about more efficiently conducting that business of the American people, which is not more efficiently handled by themselves. And no one seems to notice that they (and their husbands) make really big money while they do it.
You are correct, sir. If Snowe had not voted for it, it would NEVER have gotten to the floor of the Senate. SENATE RULES. She knew EXACTLY what she was doing and is hoping everyone forgets it. WE SHOULD NOT FORGET THIS!!!!!
“I don’t believe it would have made it out of committee without her vote and I remember saying so at the time.”
You could be right, in that she gave them cover...but there was NO WAY they were going to allow Democrats to stop this. Reid would have simply bypassed the committee if he had to...which he can do.
It sucks to hand absolute power to people that HATE this country, but this is what happens.
Maine is one of two states that allows prison inmates to vote. The other is Vermont I believe.
“Not true! They had to have at least one republican to consent to vote it out of committee. She was that vote. without her, no HC bill would have passed.”
Nope, they had a 3-vote margin...didn’t need her.
