National Geographic Warns Global Warming Leads to Increased Violence... Possibly Even 'Genocide'
Newsbusters ^ | 03/26/10 | Anthony Kang

On March 24, Ker Than argued in National Geographic that "Global warming could make the world a more violent place, because higher temperatures increase human aggression and create volatile situations."

Reporting on the findings of a new study released last week, Than repeated the study authors' estimate of increase in violence as temperatures climb: "[I]f the average temperature in the U.S. increases by 8 degrees Fahrenheit, the country's murder and assault rate will jump by about a hundred thousand cases a year."

Than also used temperature projections from the UN's IPCC, which has recently been forced to admit "flaws" in its reports since the ClimateGate scandal broke in November 2009.

"A 2007 report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change projected that global surface temperatures could rise by 2 to 11.5 degrees Fahrenheit" by 2100, he wrote without mentioning any of the criticisms of the IPCC or their own admission of problematic data.

During the ice age did human aggression and volatile situations ebb?

National Geographic pushes the global warming crapola every chance they get. If they can fit it into a program they will. Brainwashing of the masses...

Which is why I cancelled my subscription to the magazine six years ago. I still get offers in the mail from them for a super discounted subscription $11 a year. I won't bite.

"NG...pushes global warming"

The reason I quit subscribing more than twenty years ago. Couldn't read an issue without reading about some imminent, ecological disaster that was about to befall us. Leftists took over the mag a long time ago.

"[I]f the average temperature in the U.S. increases by 8 degrees Fahrenheit, the country's murder and assault rate will jump by about a hundred thousand cases a year."

But we're talking about a predicted degree and a half.

Over a century.

Or, it might go down a degree and a half. Its a cycle.

What clued it for me was when NASA reported that the Martian ice caps had been receding every year for 6 years. It occurred to me that something was going on that had nothing to do with the Bush-Cheney cabal and their evil oil buddies.

Then they reported that Pluto was warming, even though it was moving away from the sun and ought to be cooling. Then they reported that the moons around Saturn were warming. And so on.

Then I noticed that they would attack any scientist who proposed that there might be a correlation between variations in solar output and planetary temperatures, not because it wasn't true, but they said because it would distract us from making the necessary political changes.

Bingo, I said.

Tarring and feathering is “violence”, right?

Yes, but it isn't mindless violence. It has a useful purpose, one that is long over due.

Exactly. It’s tough to bust a guy in the chops when it’s so cold you can’t unwrap your arms from around your torso, and you can’t quit jumping up and down.

Right up to the point that the socialist peons in Europe, Russia and China are starving because shortened growing seasons have crippled the great northern bread baskets.

Thankfully, Canadians are few in number because the Canucks have proven themselves in battle.

Mixing up cause and effect. Obviously discharging firearms, the friction of knives and the spilling of warm blood creates global warming. The spilled blood is a two-fer since it also increases relative humidity.

I concur. Warmer weather equals easier-to-get-at resources and more food. If we had enough of all of that to go around, perhaps there would be world peace if not for religious fanatics.
