It’s the old marxist “socialism in one nation” versus “world socialism” argument. That’s the only real difference between our socialists and Putin. That and Putin saw the weakness that comes with doctrinaire stalinist communism and so is opting for the fascist form of socialism for his country while our socialists haven’t seen the weakness yet or truly don’t care about the country and so are more doctrinaire. Which is . . . once again . . . the old socialism in one nation versus world socialism argument.
