BREAKING NEWS: A South Korean navy ship with about 100 personnel on board is sinking off the west coast near North Korea, possibly due to a torpedo attack, reports say.
The ship was sinking near Baengnyeong island, Yonhap news agency quoted navy officials as saying.
The cause of the incident, which happened late on Friday night local time, was not known, the report said.
A rescue operation is said to be under way. There were no immediate reports of casualties, Yonhap said.

America has been under assault by the Leftist movement for many decades with precisely the results we are seeing, and are now anticipating today as their goals, therefore I say complicity as that is part of their program.
Let them over the pond perceive it as weakness, or any way they wish, but we must accept it for what it is, complicity.
The Left is at war with us, and we have to be at war with them as well for there to even be a fight. Perhaps someday. Hopefully not too late.
Looks like the description fits the South Korean Pohang (PCC Patrol Combat Corvette) class ships...
About 1300 tons, 95 crew...

If it is a warship...
This is going to be interesting...This has not broken yet on any network over here yet...

Looks like it just broke on Drudge...
it’s not good, not good at all .. unless the NoKo’s finally unseat Dear Leader. (But that we would do the same)
Update is that the ship was NOT sunk by a torpedo.
Did you get that off of FoxNews???
They are saying some sort of “senior” South Korean navy official is “downplaying” this incident???
Ok, if this had happened to a US ship...Any “official” downplaying something similar to this better pack for colder climates...At the very least...
Ahhhh, exploding ammunition onboard...Per FoxNews...
NK’s say they didn’t have anything to do with this...
Obviously this will go quickly on the back burner of the news wires...
Do you smell that??? That funky smell...Yeah, I smell it to...Stinks...
Yep...
Dear God. The free world is leaderless, save for Bibi and he has a full plate.
Indeed, prayers for our soldiers and military in the region and for the South Korean’s too. Dear Lord.
Kim Jong Maniac Ill is reportedly very ILL and his son is just as crazy.
I have to take a shower.
Kim is dying. That was what the nukular threat was about - if anyone tried any funny business.
When was the last time a shipshape naval vessel had an ammunition explosion that caused it to sink? And, afaik, the SoKos run a shipshape navy.
The proof will be in the testimony, if ever released to the public, from the survivors...
The only ammunitionI know that this type of ship carries is 3” (OTO Melara) ammo, its the same stuuf the US Perry class frigates carried...I believe they had a few Harpoon ASM’s in their launch cannisters, and possibly some small arms stuff...Not sure if they had any AAW systems onboard...
But things like that just don’t go off...Unless somebody royally screwed up...And even then it is improbable...
When you talk about holes in the “bottom” of a ship, you tend to lay that at the feet of an ignorant journalist...
So lets see how they CYA this one...Should be interesting...
Could there be mines in the area?
Sure, you bet...But a single “lucky” mine right along their track??? And it explodes (as reported) in the aft section of this ship, under the waterline???
Maybe...
IF it is a mine, maybe all those other ships out there might be in a little trouble if there are more, during recovery operations...
Bet your bottom dollar Fox’s first report was wrong, as is their SOP. In their first report I heard, they said the ship went down with all hands.
...”Take her down to defcom 1”......
