Rep. Steve Israel (D-N.Y.) doesn't appreciate a remark made by former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) that used gun imagery.
Palin tweeted Tuesday about the passage of the healthcare reform bill into law:

The New York Democrat responded Wednesday, ripping the comment:

Palin's "reload" comment came at a time when several Democratic lawmakers who voted for the healthcare bill have received personal threats to their personal safety. Palin has not condoned the incidents.
House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) and House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) have denounced the threats to members of Congress.

They need to be careful with their “Hate Crimes” laws. If they write those laws too strictly, a lot of MSM people could be in trouble for implied physical threats against Republicans, such as Sarah Palin, Dick Cheney, and George W. Bush. Everyone has to obey the same laws, so they’d better be careful what kind of laws they pass or we’ll see MSM liberals on trial for “hate crimes.”
I admire Sarah for all she & her family has had to endure. I know I would have flipped countless times on the attacks she & her family have been exposed to. It also helps she can use a gun too.
I think the concept of “hate crimes” is extremely dangerous, because hate is not a crime that can be proven with real evidence, and is not really a crime at all. Hate is in a person’s heart and mind and how can anyone prove beyond a reasonable doubt what is inside anyone’s heart and mind? So they’re trying to push us into the Orewellian world of thought crimes that cannot be proven and of course are not crimes at all. I really hope the SCOTUS starts to strike down these “hate crimes” laws because the legal definition of hate is way too vague and unprovable and most of all because hate by itself, often a brief passing emotion, is not a crime at all. We all have the legal right to get very angry at other people occasionally and that’s no crime as long as we control out anger and don’t commit any real crimes.

When gays/left do it and threaten violence they often shut down events to accommodate them rather than arrest them. Let conservatives do a tenth of what the left gets away with and they end up in jail.

Interesting comment. I have some liberal relatives in California and I can't stand talking about politics or economics with them. I avoid those topics because they drive me nuts with their lack of understanding of economics and several other issues. They also use this stubborn twisted logic wherein if the logic of an issue is in fact that "IF A and B are true then C must be true", I can persuade them that A and B are true but they refuse to take the fairly obvious logical step that C is also true. They refuse to take that logical step because conclusion C conflicts with liberal ideology.
So I gave up talking economics or politics with them a long time ago and now we just talk about sports, music, comedy, and other lighter subjects. If they bring up economics or start attacking George W. Bush, then I'll make a few comments and try to change the subject back to sports.
