Brandon Stockwell, a film student at SDSU, climbs to the top of the border fence south of Campo and examines the rolling desert ridges of rural Mexico. The day is bright, the winter air clean and mild. Stockwell considers how the scenery will translate to film. Would black and white or color be more effective? And what about the soundtrack? Stockwell is exploring the prospect of producing a documentary on border policy as a school project.
A motorbike appears in a plume of dust on the American side, and the helmeted driver yells, Whats your citizenship? Before Stockwell can answer, a Border Patrol truck thats following behind skids to a stop, and the half-amused agent says, Oh, never mind. Youre definitely a gringo. The men vanish in a haze of dirt, and it occurs to Stockwell that he has just had his first encounter with a Minuteman.
The Campo Minutemen are a small group made up primarily of retired veterans who work in cooperation with the Border Patrol to prevent illegal immigrants and drug runners from entering the United States. With the aid of night-vision binoculars, electronic sensors, and off-road vehicles, the Minutemen act as an extra set of eyes and ears. Most of them carry or at least own firearms. However, the Minutemen exercise a rule of noninterference with border crossers. Their function is to inform the agents of sightings and to let them take care of the rest.

From our friend at NAFBPO, with a message:
“And the U.S. continues to admit over 125,000 foreign workers every month, both permanent residents and temporary workers. Not to mention the illegals who successfully get in, perhaps as many as 30,000 a month.”

Unemployed Immigrants
By CATHERINE RAMPELL
Last year, and for the first time since 2003, foreign-born workers were more likely to be unemployed then their counterparts who were born in the United States.
Bureau of Labor Statistics
These numbers are from a new report released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
The bureau found that the composition of foreign-born workers was roughly unchanged from the previous year. In both 2008 and 2009, about half of all foreign-born workers in the United States were Hispanic, and about 22 percent were from Asia.
Native-born American workers typically make significantly more money than foreign-born workers, with median weekly wages of $761 and $602, respectively.
This differential likely has to do with the types of jobs that immigrants and native-born citizens are more likely to hold. Foreign-born workers are more likely to be in service occupations, for example, while native-born workers are more likely to be employed in management jobs or professional and related occupations.

Sorry about confusion,
The Original Posting Did Nothing but Paint the Border Patrol as Corrupt Prison Wardens Lording over innocent Shop Keepers,Farmers and a Hapless Border Watcher ,that enjoyed being used By a Leftist Media FishWrap for the Purpose of Fund Raiseing.
Sorry AuntB,
But , as You Probably Know a Rancher was Murdered near Tucson in the Last Few Hours, and My Friends send Me Reports as Well as My Own Personal Trips to The Border near Campo/Tecate for the Last 4 Years and I could count on One Hand How many Times I Have Seen this “KingFish”.

Do Not Be Fooled!
This is a Total SCAM!
“But , as You Probably Know a Rancher was Murdered near Tucson in the Last Few Hours,”
Simply heartbreaking. According to Johnny Sutton none of those border crossers carry guns, not even smugglers.
I’m surprised John McCain hasn’t told the residents on that so called ‘border’ that go through this nonsense every day to ‘just move!’.
I Have a Friend that Lives Yards,Really YARDS from the Fence, It Is Brutal!
Groups of 12 or so, with Attitudes!... Daily !
I Have Nothing But Admiration for The Border Patrol and Stand Up For Them,

Thanks AuntB
