U.S. Sen. Russ Feingold, D-Wisconsin, responded to former Gov. Tommy Thompsons potential run for Senate Tuesday in an e-mail to supporters.
Its very likely that former Bush administration HHS Secretary Tommy Thompson will enter the Republican primary to run against me in November, Feingold said in the message. On March 7, former Thompson aid Bill McCoshen said Thompson has been considering a campaign for the seat.
I wouldnt expect to see an announcement from him until the Republican convention on May 20th, McCoshen said on Up Front with Mike Gousha. But youre going to see additional evidence shortly that this thing is ramping itself up, that there are serious people involved in this effort and that Tommy is very seriously considering it.

The timing is a problem. Thompson also said he would announce his final decision in 2006 at the party convention and he decided not to run.
This year will be his last chance.
Now WI needs to tee up a really strong conservative candidate to go kick the Dairy Queens butt.
We need to dump Feingold. Period.
I will be VERY surprised if Tommy runs.
Feingold is very quiet regarding Privacy these days.
Well Tommy either needs to make a decision or else get out of the way for somebody who has a pair to jump in. I am about tired of this self-serving crap from Republicans where these little personal tiffs and whatnot screw up the ability to run somebody against some dem that deserves to lose, kind of like what is going tohappen to the seat once held by murtha.
We have no time to play around. Thompson needs to be in or out. This seat is winnable. Almost all Dems are vulnerable.
Feingold is the reason that my wife quit voting for many years.
During the CSPAN televised agruments for the Clinton Budget back in I think 1992, Feingold made the following statement on live TV:
“Although the phone calls in my office are 90 percent against this budget, I know what is best for the people of my district and I am voting for it anyway”.........
Poop or get off the pot, Tommy. We have a chance to get rid of this statist.
Has been Tommy, he should have never left in the 1st place.
Paul Ryan is articulate and aggessive, I’m beiginning to think Thompson is the dithering type.
