Rep. Dave Reichert, R-Auburn, was treated for a subdural hematoma, apparently due to a minor head injury, after being admitted to a Washington, D.C., hospital on Wednesday.
His office said Reichert was admitted to George Washington University Hospital after feeling ill. Following an evaluation, doctors performed a procedure to treat a chronic subdural hematoma collection of blood on the surface of the brain that was likely the result of a minor head injury.
The procedure was successful, and Reichert is expected to make a complete recovery, his office said. He's expected to be discharged in a few days.

Ping sionnsar if you see a Washington state related thread.
We live in his district. He was to chicken to face his constituents last summer. His office called our house for a “phone town hall meeting”. He said that Obamacare was a “done deal” and that there was nothing Republicans could do about it. He shut down anyone who brought it up. My wife was home and has never been so frustrated. The guy is more of a RINO of even McLame.
I hope he gets better, but hopefully he will retire.
Whatever his faults, he’s sure better than Darcy Burner.
I wish him a speedy recovery.
How long has he had this “chronic” condition?
No argument there.
Sorry to hear that, but at least I know that he VOTED RIGHT ON HEALTH CARE.
How do I know, BECAUSE HE IS A REPUBLICAN and EVERY Republican opposed the plan.
Take that you you third-party losers. There DEFINITELY IS a difference between the parties. Now, PLEASE, get on board...clean up the Republican Party in the Primaries, but, for heaven’s sake, don’t hand Obama a second term by voting third pary.
We were at a meeting with him last fall with a bunch of other Republicans. He was defending his vote as "Washington got more than it lost" in the bill -- clearly defensive and I am sure wishing he'd voted differently.
He doesn't strike me as having genius-level intelligence (but he's miles above Sen. "Clinton's Patsy" Murray, and he doesn't come across to me quite as squeaky-clean as when he initially ran*, so I don't know whether he was snookered or if there was some quid pro quo deal played.
(*I felt the same about Rossi on his second run, sadly. The Rossi we knew in the state was a top-notch guy. Now... who knows??)
My support for Reichert is going to be based mostly on who's running against him -- and I vaguely recall he's got a very tough, wealthy, extremely-liberal challenger from the Dems. Much worse than Heidi or Darcy.
Reichart drives me crazy. Before he ran for Congress he was giving symposiums/classes on techniques used to catch the Green River Killer (and the mistakes they made). I took one of his classes and had a chance to talk to him on issues other than GRK.
He did not impress me thinking back on him talks. Most of the mistakes made during GRK’s investigation were not mistakes, they were simply those in the Dept. refusing to stand up and push harder.
They had a pimp/boyfriend who dropped his hooker/girlfriend off with Gary Ridgeway in Ridegeway’s truck. The pimp followed them to Ridgeways home and after hours of his girlfriend not coming out, he got the girls father and contact the police who went to the home.
Ridgeway denied having even picked up the girl and refused to allow entry. Given that hookers were being killed monthly in the area, given that there was a witness to her entering both his truck and home and never coming out the police did not use their Constitutional powers to enter a home using “person in danger”.
While the police were diddling in-front of Ridgeway’s home, this girl was tied up in his bedroom having been raped already. Ridgeway finished with the police, went into his bedroom, murdered her. Her body was found months later.
There are many more examples of this happening under Reichart’s handling of GRK. But eventually he did catch Ridgeway and the public awarded him with a Congressional seat.
Although I disagree with his stand on Cap & Tax, I admire him personally and wish him a swift return to good health (and a change of heart ;)
Thanx for the ping!
And a change of mind too!
I live in his district too. Yes, he is a RINO. Like Reagan said: I’d rather have someone who votes with me 75% of the time (Reichert) than someone who votes with me 25% of the time (Darcy Burner).
him = his.
My fingers aren’t working - Obama’s fault.
I agree. Unfortunately, in our district Reichert is the reality we have to deal with.
I have great respect for our law enforcement officers. However sometimes the situations we see and the reaction to them by law enforcement are arbitrary and maddening. As bad as it sounds I have had to hold my tongue on many occasions in the interest of preserving future working relationships. I learned this the hard way. Unfortunately, the news media is almost as bad as Hollywood when it comes to retelling what happened. In over 20 years in every situation that I have been involved in... which made the local and on occassion the national news... there have always been blatant errors. Reichart may have been a saint, or he may have been a major screw-up with his leadership on the Green River Killer case. How would the public ever really know?
